Mr. Steal-Your-Girl
Mickey Mouse looks shocked, which is the same expression that would probably be on many people's faces if someone just walked up to your partner to steal her from you. Mickey and Minnie have been a couple since 1928, when she first appeared in the short film "Steamboat Willie" as a struggling musician.
Some interesting facts about the characters are that the creators decided on white gloves because their hands kept getting lost in the black background of their bodies. His name was initially Mortimer before it was changed when Walt Disney's Wife, Lillian, suggested Mickey instead during a train ride.
A New Best Friend
They say a dog is man's best friend, but sometimes a dog's best friend is another dog, as can be seen from this picture of the golden retriever service dog staring at Pluto like they've known each other for a long time. It was probably a treat for him being such a good boy, and hopefully, the dog enjoyed it too.
In the Disney universe, Pluto, the dog, is Mickey Mouse's pet, and unlike most characters, he is not anthropomorphic. He first appeared unnamed in the 1930 short film "The Chain Gang" and appeared in 24 Mickey Mouse films before being given his series in 1937.
Eating Beauty
Many people don't like to be disturbed while eating, and this toddler seems to be one of them, and while most will smile when approached by Sleeping Beauty, she doesn't seem interested and looks like she would rather go back to her food.
Sleeping beauty is a 1959 Disney film based on the 1697 story by Charles Perrault, where the main protagonist, Aurora, is put under a spell until true love's kiss can break it. It was the first animated movie to be pictured in the Super Technirama 70 widescreen process, and in 2019, it was choses for preservation by the Library of Congress for being culturally and historically significant.
Holding On For Dear Life
Many antics have been performed on this ride, but the most daring of them has to be this. The woman is familiar with him, or she might have reacted differently. Safe to say, it is highly advised not to try this with strangers to avoid getting slapped.
An interesting fact about this ride, Splash Mountain, is that it is a re-telling of a very controversial 1946 Disney movie, "Songs of the South." It was initially called Zip A Dee Do Dah River Run before being renamed to promote the 1984 live-action movie "Splash," which starred Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah.
Everybody Loves Mickey
Everybody loves Mickey Mouse, and people have gone above and beyond to showcase their love for the character, as evidenced by these two women. This is undoubtedly a dress code violation, and we can bet that they were most definitely not allowed into the park for this.
Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks created the Mickey Mouse character, an anthropomorphic mouse recognizable for his red shorts, large white gloves, and yellow shoes. He is also one of the world's most recognizable and acclaimed characters of all time, with his small stature and falsetto voice, who likes to munch on corn dog muffins.
Welcome To The Animal Kingdom. Wait, What?
The funniest pictures are those where the people in it were unaware of the joke, and this lovely couple unknowingly created one of the hilarious ones by just standing in a particular position. The Disney Animal Kingdom is located in Bay Lake, Florida, and opened to the public on April 22, 1998.
It is the largest theme park in the world and sits on 580 acres of land, filled with hundreds of live animals for visitors to enjoy. The animals are well looked after, and several efforts have been made to become more eco-friendly, such as prohibiting plastic products like straws and lids.
Chipmunks or Chaperone?
While taking a walk around Disney, it is almost impossible not to run into a famous character, and these two children made sure to get an autograph from Clarice while the two chipmunks in coats have no option but to wait. These two chipmunks are Chip and Dale, characters created by the company in 1943.
They began appearing in shorts that same year, alongside Mickey Mouse, Pluto the Dog, and Donald Duck, and were nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Animated Short Film. In 1989, an animated television series was created, and in 2022, a movie featuring John Mulaney and Andy Samberg was released on the company's streaming service.
Not a Place for Too Much Skin
These women are dressed for a casual day out in the sun and probably have plans for the day, some of which include enjoying some of what the famous Disney Parks offer. But unfortunately, they might encounter some issues, as there are some dress code rules which their workers strictly enforce.
They pride themselves in being a family-friendly environment, and guests are advised against wearing clothes that expose too much skin, such as those worn by these women. Excessively torn clothes worn by guests are also not allowed within the premises, and the company reserves the right to deny access to anyone with any attire deemed inappropriate.
Jealousy Brewing
What do you do when you see your man in the arms of another woman? Do you watch in silence or go up to him and say something? This seems to be the dilemma of Rapunzel, pictured here in the pink dress.
These two characters are part of a 2010 Disney movie called "Tangled," loosely based on the German fairy tale of Rapunzel, who was a girl famous for her incredibly long, golden hair and was locked in a tower by a sorceress. In the movie, she teams up with a young, handsome thief named Flynn Rider on an exciting adventure outside the tower.
Crushing on Peter Pan
These two people seem to be playfully fond of each other, and if this picture is anything to go by, they will make for an adorable couple. These two characters are Peter Pan and Tinker bell and are the most popular characters from the Disney movie "Peter Pan," which was initially released in 1954.
The film's plot revolves around a group of children who encounter the protagonist, and together they travel to Neverland, which is a place where they never grow old. In 2016, it was announced that plans were underway for a live-action movie, which is scheduled to be released in 2023.
Hold My Gum
It's not a good idea to chew gum while going on a ride like this, as you can mistakenly swallow your gum or even bite your tongue. That doesn't seem to bother her, though, as she seems to enjoy the ride, unlike the woman on the left, who is most definitely screaming her head off.
This ride is similar to the Incredicoaster, which opened to the public in 2001. It is the fastest ride, with a top speed of 55 miles per hour, and is the 6th longest sit-down rollercoaster as of 2022. It is also the tallest rollercoaster in Disney Parks at 122 feet.
A Memorable Proposal
Many men have been kept awake at night and have spent countless hours obsessing over the perfect way to propose to their love, but this man figured out the easiest way to do it. And all he had to do was convince four of his friends to hold up a piece of paper.
According to a Reddit post by one of the friends, they had to practice holding up the signs to prevent one from blocking the other and carried them in a backpack all day. At the ride's end, the boyfriend offered Lindsey a ring. Thankfully, she said yes!
Here Comes Ariel Winter
Disney resorts and parks have a dress code that is against clothes that are too revealing or might cause distractions, but it seems like those in responsible for enforcing the rules weren't really paying attention that day, or maybe she might have been let off because of her celebrity status.
The celebrity in question is Ariel Winters, who is most famous for starring as Alex Dunphy in "Modern Family" sitcom from 2009 to 2020. She won four consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards from 2010 to 2013 and voiced a character, Penny Peterson, in the 2014 animated movie "Mr. Peabody and Sherman."
Taking It Up A Notch
Board games are primarily played in a calm and relaxed environment for a bit of fun and enjoyment, but these guys had other ideas and figured out that the best place to play Connect Four and Jenga was on a water park ride at Disney. It's hard to imagine they finished the game before the ride ended.
If you aren't aware, Connect Four is a two-player game where the players each take turns dropping colored objects into a grid. The objective of this game is to be the first to form an unbroken horizontal, vertical or diagonal line with four colored objects.
Indeed the Happiest Place on Earth
As a place that features several famous characters, world-class tourist attractions, and promises an exciting and unforgettable time, Disneyland has often been described as the happiest place on earth. It seems like "Bachelorette" star Hannah Brown would surely agree, as she is captured here looking like a kid in a candy store.
The theme park, located in Anaheim, California, opened in 1955 and, since then, has had the most attendance of any theme park in the world, as over 757 million visits have been recorded. It employs over 65,000 people and has undergone multiple expansions and renovations throughout the years, including the 2019 addition of Star Wars: Galaxy Edge.
Eyes on the Camera!
Visitors are often quick to take photographs with their favorite characters, and they willingly oblige, as Chip and Dale demonstrate in this photo. Not many people know that Bill Justice created these characters, and their first appearance was in a Pluto short titled "Private Pluto."
Shortly after that, they were featured in Donald Duck shorts and frequently tried to outdo one another in various activities. The two chipmunks have distinct personalities, with Chip being the more focused, intelligent, and logical character. At the same time, Dale is often laid-back and impulsive, with a perfect sense of humor. Chip's hair is also much smoother than Dale's ruffled ones.
Look Away, Minnie!
It must have pained Minnie Mouse to look upon a shirt such as this, as the guy should probably have decided against wearing a deadmau5 shirt to meet her. Deadmau5, pronounced as "dead mouse," is a Canadian electronic music producer and DJ who has received six Grammy Award nominations for his work.
On the other hand, Minnie Mouse is a cartoon character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks to be the love interest Mickey Mouse. She is recognizable for her big white gloves, red bow, polka-dot dress, and low heel shoes. A fun fact that few people know is that her full name is Minerva Mouse.
A Look Of Absolute Fear
Only two words can be used to accurately describe what the young children are feeling in this picture, absolute fear. And it's very hard not to feel this way, as most rides have a top speed of between 15 and 56 miles per hour, depending on which one you jump on.
The Incredicoaster is one of them, featuring an upside-down loop, very steep drops, and three tunnels, and a ride on this lasts for about two and a half minutes. On the other hand, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is widely considered the scariest of them all, with several unexpected drops, some of them occurring in darkness.
Don't Lose Your Head
Children who visit Disneyworld or park often think they are interacting with the actual characters, but little do they know that those people are paid to act like that. They are often called cast members, and they all have to follow rigid rules and guidelines while on duty.
One such rule is that they always stay in character for the entire duration of their shift, and they must act in a similar way and with similar mannerisms to the character they are portraying. Another major one is never to take off the costume where anyone can see, as this can break the illusion to little children.
The Rock On A Ride
How would you feel if you had your picture taken while at Splash Mountain, only to collect it and see that someone's massive bicep was covering your face? We assume you'll not feel very pleased about it, but, considering that the person is Dwayne Johnson, he'll most likely get a pass.
There are three versions of the ride which feature a similar layout. The log that guests ride in first ascends to the hill before being suddenly dropped at 56 feet into a briar patch, and then it continues on its path back into the mountain, where various animatronics sing a chorus.
Mickey Needs A Break
When a character is on a break, where and how do they go? That is a question that many people online and even offline have often asked. But there is a straightforward answer to that. They can use a vast system of underground tunnels to move from one point to the other.
This is to avoid a situation where fans flock to one character on the way to another venue. It also prevents another character from mistakenly appearing where they are not supposed to. Cast members also follow these tunnels into backstage cafeterias, changing rooms, and break rooms where they can relax.
Swift-ly Passing By
Celebrities also love Disney and enjoy going on rides when they can. Taylor Swift certainly did and expressed her kid at heart, as she is pictured in a 2016 photo screaming in excitement with Lily Aldridge, a Victoria's Secret Angel, and her daughter, with a chill bodyguard behind her.
They are on a Radiator Springs Racers ride, a simulated attraction and the most expensive one at Disneyland Resort, with a cost of over $200 million. The guests are taken in a six-seater vehicle through various twists, turns, and hills at 40 miles per hour before returning to the boarding station.
An Unexpected Passenger
This man and this woman just wanted to have a wonderful time at Disneyland and enjoy the rollercoaster, but this bird had other plans, as it suddenly crashed into them mid-flight. Across all Disney parks and resorts worldwide, there are nine roller coasters.
And it seems they are still working on them. In the year 2022, the company filed a patent for a new type that jumps off the track and into the air before landing on another set of tracks in front of it. It will be one of the world's most advanced and extreme rides if they pull it off.
Let Me Just Back It Up
They say people will do almost anything to get an excellent shot, and this woman proves it by doing what could only be described as a semi-handstand. It doesn't matter that she looks ridiculous to any other passing guest, but nothing is too much for that most outstanding Instagram photo.
Inappropriate behavior is not uncommon in a place like this. In 2022, Disneyland Paris had to close off access to one of its new attractions because guests would not stop climbing it, which is in direct violation of their rule against decency and civilized behavior and could earn the offending guest a lifetime ban.
Fashion Fail
Unintentional humor is one of the best kinds, and this woman gave that to many people with this poorly positioned Mickey Mouse sweater. It was probably a hot day, and she decided to keep the sweater handy in case the weather changed. This certainly did not break any dress code rules, except if one of them was not to make people laugh.
According to the Disneyworld site, proper clothing, including shirts, must be worn at all times within the premises. People with multiple layers of clothing are subject to a search to prevent guests from possibly sneaking in prohibited items.
Goofing Off With Minnie
We all know that Minnie is Mickey's significant order, so imagine what it would look like if she were caught in a compromising situation with another character, say Goofy. According to an online report, this photo is clipped from a video in 2006 where Disneyland cast members were fooling around behind the scenes.
While this was funny to many, the management was not so amused, as they promised to take appropriate measures to punish those involved. As they appeared in the video, two employees were identified with their faces uncovered. However, the workers union promised that the punishment would be moderate.
Escorted Off The Property
When people visit Disneyworld, parks, or resorts, they expect to enjoy all that the place has to offer, including the fantastic and thrilling rides, as well as getting a chance to meet their favorite characters. But no one envisages seeing one or more of them being escorted out of the premises by the police.
These pictures were taken in 2008 when people held up traffic at the Anaheim location because of disagreements with the company. According to their website, costumes are not permitted to be worn by anyone above 14 years of age. This is because they want guests to be clear about who the actual characters are.
Excellent Proposal Picture
The day of a marriage proposal is special in many people's lives, and they aim to get the perfect picture of that magical moment. Some of them even try to make it happen in the most magical place of all, Disneyland. But, as this picture shows, it sometimes goes differently than planned.
The man proposing is Nick Landis, and he shared this photo to Reddit after the man in the white shirt hilariously photobombed him asking for his girlfriend's hand in marriage. Marriage proposals within the premises are allowed, although guests must contact the company and staff if they prefer a more extensive one.
A Tale Of Two People
This is a tale of two individuals, one of them enthusiastic, excited, and fully participating in the ongoing event. At the same time, the other looks bored, as if he would rather be anywhere else but there. He probably had been there one too many times.
This picture was taken at Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, also known as Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, in Disneyland. It is an interactive shooting ride attraction that combines a carnival game with an omnimover system. The ride is based on Buzz Lightyear, a viral character from the "Toy Story" franchise, and can be found in various company locations across the world.
Looking Gorgeous
When Walt Disney designed and opened his theme parks and resorts, he initially intended for them to be incredible tourist attractions to continuously entertain and thrill guests from all over the world. And that is precisely what Svetlana Bilyalova felt in 2016 when she visited the premises of the happiest place on earth.
The resort is located in Florida and opened to everyone on October 1, 1971. It comprises four theme parks, two water parks, 31 resort hotels, and several other entertainment venues. On October 2021, they began a celebration of their 50th anniversary, which is to continue until March 31, 2023.
Alice In Wonderland
Although she is not considered part of the famed Disney princesses, Alice is a very popular character. She was the star of the 1951 animated film "Alice in Wonderland," based on the books written by Lewis Carroll. The movie was originally intended to be a mix of live-action and animation until it was decided against that.
The plot revolves around the protagonist, who begins to daydream, taking her into a whimsical world full of magical and mysterious characters that she encounters. It wasn't a hit at first, but a 1974 re-release proved successful, leading it to become critically acclaimed in the years that followed.
Not-So-Little Mermaids
Between 1959 and 1967, visitors of Disneyland got to experience some moments of wonder during the summer as they saw and interacted with real-life mermaids. Or they thought as it turned out, that they were just actors paid to do a job and act like one.
According to an article by the Huffington Post, in 2015, when the Submarine Voyage ride was opened, women were hired to act like mermaids wearing plastic tails. Susan Hoose, a former mermaid, also revealed that they were paid about $45 a week at that time and sometimes performed synchronized swimming acts with the other mermaids.
Aren't You Supposed To Be With Mickey?
Although Minnie Mouse is a long-time companion of Mickey Mouse, that doesn't stop her from admiring other people and sometimes going so far as to kiss them. But, if this picture is anything to go by, the guy doesn't seem too bothered with it. On the other hand, the woman might have something to say about it.
Disneyland and its workers pride themselves on giving guests a magical experience. According to an article by Insider in 2022, cast members often offer to take pictures of guests so that no one is left out of the photo, as they may not have the chance to do so again.
Not Really A Happy Place on Earth
It's hard to figure out what the guy in the photo is thinking about so much that he doesn't even seem to be interested in going down Splash Mountain. He might be going through a bad breakup, or he just remembered forgetting to do something meaningful. Whatever the case, it's not a good look for the happiest place on earth.
This attraction is the creation of Tony Baxter, who thought of this while stuck in traffic to attract more guests to Bear Country at Disneyland. This cost $75 million to build and was one of the most expensive projects then.
Hey Old Friends
This adorable photo of Donald Duck was captured at Disneyland, and it seems like he hasn't forgotten where he came from. After all, he is a duck whose full name is Donald Fauntleroy Duck. He typically wears a blue sailor hat and a shirt with a red bow on it and is known for his semi-intelligible speech and temperamental personality.
In 2002, he was included in the list of 50 most fantastic cartoon characters and starred on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Donald Duck has appeared in more films than any other character and is the most published comic book character, excluding superheroes.
Sad Clown
Clowns are supposed to spread happiness, joy, and laughter around, so it's a surprise to see a sad clown, and strangely of all, on a rollercoaster. Wooden rollercoasters can be found in Disneyland, with the most popular of them being the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
It first opened on September 2, 1979, and featured a theme and storyline in which, sometime in the 1800s, gold was discovered in Big Thunder Mountain. Still, after some time, an unfortunate natural event caused the place to be abandoned. Throughout the ride, sound effects are added to bring realism as it passes through various rocks.
Daddy Wears The Crown
Daughters are often their father's little princesses, for whom they would do almost anything, including dressing up as a fictional character to please her. And not just any character, as the crown signifies that he is King Triton, King of the Sea, father to Ariel, and one of the notable characters in "The Little Mermaid."
In the animated movie, he is the ruler of the fictional Atlantica and wields a mighty golden trident that allows him to control the sea and animals. Triton is often portrayed as overprotective, especially of Ariel, and distrusting of humans, leading to frequent clashes and disagreements between them.
Let's All Have A Bath
There's no end to the sort of antics that guests frequently pull when they go up Splash Mountain, and if you ask them, it seems like the best place to have a bath is right inside the ride. Although it opened in 1989, it took a year for them to finally install cameras that took photos of people as they went down the final drop.
In 2020, the company announced plans to make over the attractions based on "The Princess and the Frog," a 2009 movie and expects it to be ready sometime in 2024. The ride is to be named Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
Dinner In The Water
The Splash Mountain drop is 15 meters, and it's no surprise it's a favorite among guests on the premises, as the attraction features enjoyable music that includes "How do you do?," which was specially recorded for the ride by the Floozies. It also plays "Ev'rybody has a laughing place," which was recorded by three sisters who worked for the company then.
So, if you are ever asked to choose between having a delicious chicken dinner and a ride on Splash Mountain, how about selecting both? This lady demonstrates that it is feasible if you are willing to try. Let's hope that that dinner was delicious.
The Call Is Bothering Me
What call is so important that you must take it right in the middle of a thrilling rollercoaster ride? It's a wonder it didn't just fly off his hands as soon as he brought it out, as rollercoasters are known to move at speeds between 25 and 55 miles per hour.
The fastest one is the Incredicoaster, modeled and loosely based on the Pixar animated movie "The Incredibles." It is the longest coaster with a loop, and as guests are seated, the train is launched into the first tunnel, descends a drop, and climbs up a hill. All these take approximately one minute and twenty seconds.
Angry Woman On A Log
When this picture was taken in 2016, it became viral on social media, with people finding the woman's grumpy demeanor funny. It didn't take long for the story behind this photo to come to light, making people finally understand why she was the only one not enjoying herself.
The woman, Jordan Alexander, turned out to be angry at her husband because he refused to accompany her on the ride. Her husband posted on social media that he was too tired, as they had spent the entire day walking around. Thankfully, she forgave him as soon as she got out of the ride.
Let's Play Some Monopoly
Do you know what would be a very bad idea? That is playing the Monopoly board game on Splash Mountain. That is because it will be challenging to keep the game pieces stable when you're zooming in and out of tunnels and being dropped from over 50 feet, but these guys do not care.
The game is an extremely popular multiplayer game where the players roll two dice to determine where they move on the board, and can buy, trade, and develop properties with the in-game currency. As of 2015, an estimated 275 million game copies have been sold worldwide.
Not Here, Mom And Dad
Moms and dads worldwide sometimes take special pride in embarrassing their young children publicly, and these parents are no exception. You can tell from their faces and their children's reaction behind them. And there's nothing they can do about it since they have all the right to enjoy the moment.
Disneyland can do nothing about it, too, as their rules only discourage inappropriate public behavior, while these parents only have fun poses. According to many online articles, one of the most romantic places on the premises is the Cinderella Castle, and no trip there is complete without one or two snapshots in front of the building.
Marry Me, Gaston
It seems like Gaston has an admirer, and it's no wonder why, as his good looks are sure to attract people wherever he goes. In case you didn't know, Gaston is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the 1991 animated movie "Beauty and the Beast," where Richard White voiced him.
He is often portrayed as arrogant, aggressive, and charismatic, and is a skilled hunter who has a thing for the movie's main character, Belle, although she doesn't share the same sentiments. His jealousy leads him to plot against his rival, and the character has received positive reviews from film critics.
What's New In The Newspapers?
If you missed the day's newspaper headlines, do not worry; you could always catch up on them on your Splash Mountain ride, as these three people clearly show. It does not matter to them that the papers will be thoroughly soaked and almost unreadable when they get to the end of the ride.
Sometimes only a few things go well. In the year 2020, during a visit to the ride, some guests noticed something wrong with the animatronics, as three characters, Brer Fox, Brer Rabbit, and Brer Bear, hung motionless without moving, the opposite of what they were supposed to do.
Mickey's Made A New Friend
Mickey is one of the most well-known characters and is well known for his cheerful and exciting personality and ability to make friends. As seen by his interaction with this dog, he seems pleased. Animals are not allowed in, but special allowance is made for service animals.
The Disneyland Resort site states that although they are welcome, the owners have the sole responsibility of controlling and restraining the animal from preventing them from being nuisances to other guests. The unruly animals might also not be permitted into some rides and are to be dropped off temporarily at selected portable kennels.
Beauty And The Beast
What can you do when a hulking beast covers your entire face with his massive paws? Judging from the picture, nothing can be done, but we're sure the children thoroughly enjoyed interacting with these much-loved characters. Beauty and the Beast is a 1991 animated movie based on the 1756 fairy tale of the same name.
It focuses on the relationship between the Beast and Belle. It shows how they grow closer to each other, culminating in him being transformed into his human form. After its release, it received critical acclaim and won an Academy Award for Best Original Score in 1992.
Flash Mountain
During the 90s, Splash Mountain went by a different moniker. It was sometimes referred to as Flash Mountain, as female guests would sometimes pull crazy stunts like pulling up their shirts to reveal their breasts to the camera as it captured them going over the last mountain.
But these pictures were often not given to the guests, as cast members withheld them, although some have somehow managed to find their way into the internet. As for the other guests on the ride who appeared in the withheld photo, they had to explain to the workers that they would be allowed to ride again and have their pictures taken.
Oh, Shoot! Andy's Coming
As a child, did you ever wonder if your toys were alive and if they pretended not to be as soon as you were around? These Woody and Jessie characters re-enact one of the most recurring moments in the Toy Story movies, where the toys lay motionless as soon as Andy walks into the room.
Toy Story is a 1996 animated comedy film that takes place in a world where toys are alive, and the plot of the first movie focuses on two central characters, Woody, a cowboy doll, and Buzz Lightyear, a space cadet action figure. It was the second-highest-grossing movie at the worldwide box office in 1995.
No Tops Allowed
There must be something about Splash Mountain that makes guests want to take the weirdest, most amusing photos on the way down because that is the only way to explain what's happening here. Men and women are on the same page about what they are supposed to do at that moment. Probably because this group does not have extra clothes as this ride will make you drenched in water.
From January 10, 2022, to February 13, 2022, Disney temporarily closed down the attraction to undergo some maintenance and refurbishments. These include minor, aesthetic changes like reapplying the paint and fixing faulty animatronics like the Brer Bear and Brer Fox.
