Sarah Jessica Parker

When people talk about "S** and the City," it's impossible not to remember Sarah Jessica Parker, who played columnist Carrie Bradshaw and the narrator of the show. For this role, the actress bagged multiple Emmys and Golden Globes.

Parker starred in many shows and films before this show, like "Square Pegs" and "Hocus Pocus," but it was this fashionable character that cemented her A-list status. After it ended, she landed another HBO series, "Divorce," which ran for three years and ended in 2019. She also joined the cast of the 2021 revival titled "And Just Like That," reprising her iconic role.

Kristin Davis

Prior to "S** and the City," Kristin Davis already appeared in a string of shows, and the HBO program also wasn't the first time she worked with showrunner Darren Star, as the pair previously teamed up in "Melrose Place." In the series that was adapted from Candace Bushnell's eponymous book, the actress played Charlotte York, the naïve and most old-fashioned among the group.

After filming ended in 2004, Davis noticeably took a break from acting and, as per Insider, she focused on championing her advocacies. She did come back in 2014 in the movie "Bad Teacher" and has not taken a break from her career since.

Kim Cattrall

In the HBO show, Kim Cattrall played the ever-outspoken public relations agent Samantha Jones, which was said to be the program's breakout character. But despite garnering acclaim for her portrayal, she made it clear multiple times that she had no plans of reprising her role.

Cattrall also fuelled feud rumors between her and Sarah Jessica Parker, and did not mince her words on social media when she called her former co-star out. After "S** and the City," the Canadian star appeared in shows like "Filthy Rich," which unfortunately wasn't renewed for season 2.

Kyle MacLachlan

Even though Charlotte is a lawyer, she wasn't particularly cautious when it comes to her first choices of men. Specifically, her first husband, Trey Macdougal, showed many red flags even before they tied the knot, but the lawyer didn't seem to notice them due to their whirlwind romance.

The actor who played the part, Kyle MacLachlan, was already big when he joined the cast of the program. After leaving "S** and the City," he went on to appear in shows like "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Portlandia." He also played inventor Thomas Edison in the 2020 movie "Tesla."

Ben Weber

The ladies in the show had a lot of flings in their quest to find their true love, and Miranda's short list included Skipper, the website creator with whom she went out for a short while before he disappeared in season 2. There was much potential in their relationship, but he suddenly disappeared out of the show and her life.

As it turned out, Ben Weber, the actor who played the part, was also left clueless about what had happened to his character, as he revealed to Cosmopolitan. According to director Susan Seidelman, she found the 20-something hopeless romantic to be a great catalyst for too-serious Miranda.

David Eigenberg

Miranda eventually found love in Steve Brady, played by David Eigenberg. After the show ended, he starred as the firefighter Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann in "Chicago Fire" before reprising this part again in "Chicago P.D." and "Chicago Justice." The star also appeared in the movies "Five" and "Liz & Dick."

Eigenberg reprised his role in the 2021 revival, "And Just Like That." Unfortunately, his on-screen mom, Mary Brady, wouldn't be able to appear in the spinoff because she passed away in 2015. In real life, he is happily married to Chrysti Eigenberg since 2002 and was blessed with two kids.

Mario Cantone

During Charlotte's first wedding, Mario Cantone's Anthony Marentino helped her prepare by organizing the event. In return, she set him up with Carrie's friend, Stanford Blatch, although they had a complicated relationship throughout the show. In the film, however, the two seemed to have worked out as they were seen kissing during New Year's Eve.

Cantone, who reprised his role in the "S** and the City" revival, appeared in shows like "Hindsight," "Men in Trees," and "Better Things." Although his role in the HBO series had a complex romance storyline, the actor's real-life relationship is more stable as he has been married to Jerry Dixon for a decade.

Evan Handler

Another star who agreed to reprise their role in the 2021 revival "And Just Like That" is Evan Handler, who portrayed Charlotte's divorce attorney and ended up marrying her. He entered the scene in the later seasons and in the films as the fan-favorite loving husband of Charlotte.

The same cannot be said in real life. In his memoir titled "It's Only Temporary," Handler revealed that he had around 10 women in his life and had broken up with them nearly 30 times. Nonetheless, The Huffington Post contributor is married to Elisa Atti.

Jason Lewis

Samantha was scarred after enduring heartbreak when she met waiter Smith Jerrod, who was the only one who stuck by her side. She helped him transform into an in-demand model, while he proved to the public relations agent that she could trust him. The character, played by Jason Lewis, appeared in season 6 as well as the films.

However, along with Kim Catrall, Lewis didn't join the cast of "And Just Like That," much to his fans' dismay. In a 2021 interview with the Daily Front Row, he admitted that he hasn't been approached by the network and hinted that the story would be about the foursome.

Ron Livingston

Ron Livingston's character in the "S** and the City" is quite unforgettable because Jack Berger infamously broke up with Carrie through a Post-It note with only three short sentences revealing why he was backing out of their relationship.

There have been many red flags that the fashion-forward columnist should have noticed from the writer, but fans couldn't help but feel awful for Carrie after the breakup. Livingston, however, has enjoyed a steady stream of projects after the HBO series ended, and he had been seen in the show "A Million Little Things" since 2018.

James Remar

Samantha had a hard time trusting men again after her love, Richard Wright, had an affair during their on-and-off relationship. It was a huge blow to her that she even found it difficult to fully admit she fell for Jason Lewis. As such, many fans hated her ex, portrayed by actor James Remar.

Remar, however, continued to bag roles after his stint in "S** and the City." Supporters may recognize him from "Dexter," "The Vampire Diaries," and "Black Lightning." Still, he may be most memorable for his voice acting in "The Batman," "Ben 10: Alien Force," and "The Spectacular Spider-Man."

John Corbett

Die-hard fans of "S** and the City" remain divided on whether Mr. Big or Aidan was the better man for Carrie. The latter, played by John Corbett, was a fan-favorite because of how he came close to settling down with the writer. Unfortunately, the writer wasn't ready to start a new chapter of her life with the furniture designer.

Post the HBO show, Corbett appeared in movies like "Raise Your Voice" and "Raising Helen" and in shows like "Parenthood" and "United States of Tara." The singer also played Dr. Covey, Lara Jean's dad, in the Netflix film "To All The Boys I've Loved Before."

Mikhail Baryshnikov

In the last season of "S** and the City," Carrie introduced her love interest, Aleksandr Petrovsky, played by Mikhail Baryshnikov. However, her friends weren't huge fans of the man and urged Mr. Big to go to Paris to try and win her back.

After this stint, Baryshnikov didn't take acting projects that much, only appearing in the film "Place" and show "Doll & Em." Prior to joining the show, he was already a renowned name in ballet, and in an interview with Vanity Fair, he admitted that he didn't care that he was more known as an actor than a dancer.

Blair Underwood

Miranda, the uptight lady from the bunch, was smitten after meeting Dr. Robert Leeds on an elevator. The pair hit it off and the hunk Blair Underwood ended up appearing in five episodes. However, the actor initially declined to play a stereotypical role that would pair him with Samantha.

Later, after he was offered to play another role, Underwood accepted the project. Unfortunately, Miranda and Robert's relationship didn't blossom even though he gave her a giant cookie with the words "I Love You." Speaking about heartbreaks, Underwood and his wife of 27 years called it quits in May 2021.

Kat Dennings

Fans recognize actress Kat Dennings as the hilarious Max Black from "2 Broke Girls" but not many may realize that she appeared in "S** and the City." She joined the cast for one episode as the 13-year-old Jenny Brier, who tapped Samantha to plan her party.

It may not be a memorable portrayal, but this stint helped her land the CBS sitcom she starred in from 2011 to 2017. Her character's sass in the show inspired show creator Michael Patrick King to write "2 Broke Girls" with Dennings in mind. Unfortunately, the show, which also starred Beth Behrs, was canceled after six seasons.

John Slattery

Due to the number of men that Carrie dated on the show, it's hard to remember all of them. One of the weirdest, however, was Bill Kelley, the politician who had a weird quirk that had put the columnist off. John Slattery played the part and appeared for two episodes in the third season.

This aside, Slattery is best known for playing Roger Sterling Jr. in "Mad Men" and Tony Stark's father in Marvel's "Iron Men." He also had roles in a string of shows in 2020 like Fred Schlafly in "Mrs. America" and Paul LeBlanc in "Next."

Bridget Moynahan

When model-turned-actress Bridget Moynahan was spotted on the set of "And Just Like That" in July 2021, many fans were elated to know that she was reprising her role as Mr. Big's ex-wife, Natasha, who first appeared on "S** and the City" season 2 and exited in the following season.

Before Natasha went away, she talked to Carrie about having an affair with her husband during their marriage. Years after the HBO show, she landed the role of Erin Reagan, the daughter of actor Tom Selleck in the procedural show "Blue Bloods" that she has been portraying since 2010.

David Duchovny

Actor David Duchovny appeared in the season 6 episode titled "Boy, Interrupted" where he played Jeremy. The character was actually Carrie's boyfriend in high school and in a bid to find her hunk ex, the writer attended their reunion.

Carrie was shocked to find Jeremy looking better than she remembered, but things didn't work out between them. Although Duchovny's face was an interesting arc in "S** and the City," he is best known for playing Fox Mulder in "The X-Files" from 1993 to 2018. In 2020, she portrayed Adam in "The Craft: Legacy" and lent his voice in the game "XIII Remake."

Candice Bergen

In "S** and the City" season 4, Enid, Vogue's editor, was introduced to the audience. Carrie reported to her and made quite an impression on viewers. She also appeared in the first film. Candice Bergen played the part, but unlike others on this list, she already had an established resume prior to joining the cast.

Her career spans over six decades, appearing in shows like "Boston Legal," "Law & Order," and "Murphy Brown."  She also starred in movies, including "Let Them All Talk," "Bride Wars," "Miss Congeniality," as well as lending her voice in "Family Guy" and "BoJack Horseman."

Jennifer Coolidge

It's not a secret that Kim Catrall didn't want to be involved in future "S** and the City" projects, despite the show thrusting her to unimaginable heights. However, earlier in January 2021, it was revealed that Jennifer Coolidge would replace the former cast member as Samantha, but she denied the hearsay.

In the show, Coolidge guest-starred as Victoria, the purse designer who was a friend of the foursome. The actress may not join the 2021 reboot of the show, but she said she remains a fan of the iconic program and of Catrall even though she isn't a part of the run.

Justin Theroux

Actor Justin Theroux appeared in the HBO show twice as different characters in the first and second seasons. He played Stanford's friend, Jared, a budding writer who seemed to show interest in Carrie, and Vaughn Wysel, whose family Carrie loved.

Speaking about these polarizing characters in Sunday Today, Theroux said all it took for his transformation was a hair change. He also expressed interest to join the reboot "And Just Like That" if he would be tapped by the network, calling the show the "rite of passage" for young actors in New York City.

Jon Bon Jovi

Many stars had graced "S** and the City," albeit only having a blink-and-you-miss-it role. The long list includes Jon Bon Jovi. Yup, the musician known for his classic hits "Livin' On a Prayer" and "It's My Life." In the classic show, the artist played Seth in the episode "Games People Play" in season 2.

Seth ended up going out with Carrie once, but she realized that she wasn't so lucky in picking men. About his cameo, Bon Jovi told Andy Cohen in March 2021 that he had no idea about the show's impact before he appeared in it.

Eddie Cahill

In the show, there were only a handful of men that many fans felt had the potential to be Carrie's true love, and that includes Eddie Cahill's Sean, who made the writer feel young and carefree. The fashionable columnist was initially sure that she wanted him, but later realized that there were a lot of factors that wouldn't make the relationship work.

After this stint, Cahill went on to enrich his resume, appearing in "CSI: NY," "Under the Dome," "Conviction," and "Glory Days." Fans may also recognize him from the iconic show "Friends," where he played Tag Jones from 2000 to 2001.

Vince Vaughn

Actor Vince Vaughn is known for his acting credits like "Couples Retreat," "Wedding Crashers," and "The Break-Up." However, he once appeared in "S** and the City" as Keith Travers, with whom Carrie had a fling in Los Angeles when he provided the four ladies access to a movie after they were denied.

He pretended to be Matt Damon's agent, too, so Carrie was totally smitten by him. Eventually, she learned that Keith was just faking his credentials. Since guest-starring in the show, Vaughn hasn't hit the brakes on his career and has been busy with both acting and producing.

Elizabeth Banks

Actress Elizabeth Banks is best known for her roles in "Pitch Perfect," "Love & Mercy," and "The Hunger Games," but not many may realize that she made a cameo in season three of "S** and the City." In the HBO program, she played a woman from the political fundraiser that Charlotte was interested in.

Worse, Banks' character confided to Charlotte about her desire to settle down. After this show, Max Handelman's wife starred in numerous series like "Modern Family" and "Mrs. America." She also appeared in films like "Brightburn," "Charlie's Angels," and "Power Rangers."

Alan Cumming

Scottish musician Alan Cumming guest-starred on the show as O, a Dolce and Gabbana stylist who worked with Carrie before she walked the runway. Even though it was only for one episode, it turned out that his portrayal left a lasting impression on his fans.

He admitted on his website that he still hears his character's expression "Me Likey" from his supporters now and then. Cumming reminisced on the day he became a part of the show in an Instagram post in 2018. In 2021, he voice-acted in a slew of shows like "The Prince" and "Hot White Heist."

Heidi Klum

In April 2021, celebrity Heidi Klum pranked her followers when she announced that she would be joining the revival of "S** and the City." Many fans were hopeful, especially since she nailed personifying herself in an episode where she and Carrie worked together on the runway.

Klum may not be expected in the show, but she has her hands full with lots of projects. On top of this, she is also raising her four kids, including daughter Leni, who is following in her modeling footsteps. The "America's Got Talent" judge also shows her support for her child by attending her runway shows.

Lucy Liu

In an episode titled "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" in season 4, "Charlie's Angels" star Lucy Liu appeared as herself as a client. As a publicist, Samantha was so happy that she landed an A-lister, but unfortunately, she ditched Liu just to get a prized Birkin.

After knowing what happened, Liu fired Samantha and bought the luxurious purse. Speaking about her time on the HBO program, Liu recalled how they weren't even able to use a real Birkin bag on the set. After this stint, she remained active in acting on TV, appearing on "Why Women Kill" and "Elementary."

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar is best known for playing the titular character in the "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and while she was in the midst of filming the fictional show, she guest-starred in "S** and the City." No, she didn't portray Buffy Summers, rather Debbie, an executive in Los Angeles that wanted to make Carrie's column into a film.

Of course, Gellar continued to bag projects after her "S** and the City" appearance. She voice-acted in "American Dad," "The Simpsons," "Star Wars Rebels," and "Robot Chicken." The wife of Freddie Prinze also gave life to Teela in the 2021 show "Masters of the Universe: Revelation."

Matthew McConaughey

In the third season of "S** and the City," viewers saw Carrie having a great time in Los Angeles. During this trip, she met Matthew McConaughey, who played his fictionalized self in the show. He wanted to portray Mr. Big in the supposed film chronicling the writer's life and column.

Although McConaughey's appearance only lasted in the episode "Escape from New York," he and Sarah Jessica Parker would work together again in the 2006 rom-com "Failure to Launch," wherein he played Tripp, an adult still living with his parents, while she portrayed Paula, dubbed as an interventionist.

Kristen Johnston

Actress Kristen Johnston, known for her credits "3rd Rock from the Sun," for which she won Emmy Awards, appeared in season 6 of the HBO show. Unfortunately, her socialite character passed away after she tripped and fell from a skyscraper.

This untimely demise became instrumental in Carrie's move to Paris. Johnston had died in the show, but her career continued to flourish after the stint. From 2018 to 2021, she played Tammy in the TV show "Mom" while she portrayed Anna Crouse in the 2017 series "Daytime Divas." Fans may also recall her as Holly Franklin in "The Exes."

Carole Bouquet

Many high-profile names guest-starred in the final season of the phenomenal "S** and the City," including French actress Carole Bouquet, known for being the face of Chanel No. 5 decades ago. She appeared in the last episode of the HBO show as the ex of Alexsandr Petrovsky, Carrie's Russian boyfriend.

Despite their strange link, Carrie and Juliet had lunch at a posh restaurant in Paris and enjoyed conversing. Bouquet has been an actress since the '70s and doesn't seem to intend to stop working. In 2021, she played Esther in the TV show "En thérapie" and appeared in the films "Boutchou" and "I Love You Coiffure."

Liza Minnelli

Due to her powerful stage presence and distinct voice, it's not puzzling to understand why "S** and the City 2" execs tapped songstress Liza Minnelli to make an unforgettable cameo in the movie. In the film, she performed Beyonce's "Single Ladies" in a sparkling number during the wedding of Stanford Blatch and Anthony Marantino.

To make it even more interesting, Minnelli's character also officiated the ceremony. Unfortunately, the actress is no longer actively appearing on TV or in film. Her last acting credit was in 2013 in the hit TV show "Arrested Development" and as herself in "Smash."

Jennifer Hudson

Songstress Jennifer Hudson bagged a significant role in the first "S** and the City" movie as Louise, Carrie's assistant. Many fans would remember her Louis Vuitton bag that her boss gave her, but wasn't exactly as classic as the other designs.

Early 2021, when rumors began swirling about the possible cast members of "And Just Like That," Hudson admitted that she was cool about reprising her role in the revival. Before starring in this 2008 film, she hit the big screen as Effie White in "Dreamgirls." Another huge opportunity came knocking on the songstress' door when she was tapped to play Aretha Franklin in the 2018 movie "Respect."

Frances Sternhagen

One of the biggest reasons Charlotte and Trey's marriage didn't work out was because she had an overbearing mother-in-law, Bunny, who was played by Frances Sternhagen. Many fans were irritated with the passive-aggressive matriarch, but for this portrayal, the actress received an Emmy nod.

After "S** and the City," Sternhagen became very active in theater, appearing in productions like "Steel Magnolias," "The Madrid," and "Seascape." She was also seen as Blanche Braverman in Parenthood and Willie Ray Johnson in The Closer. Given her age, it's understandable that the nonagenarian has chosen to step back from the limelight.

Willie Garson

Whenever Carrie's date wouldn't show up or when she suffers a heartbreak, she would run to her ride-or-die, Stanford Blatch, played by Willie Garson. Their friendship goes way back, as it was revealed in the show that they have been great pals since their partying days in the New York scene of the '80s.

Although Garson wasn't one of the central characters in the show, his loyalty and utmost support to the main star made him a fan-favorite. After "S** and the City," he went on to land a more prominent role in "White Collar." Good news for his fans because he will reprise his Stanford role in "And Just Like That."

Cynthia Nixon

Actress Cynthia Nixon played the rational lawyer Miranda Hobbes in the HBO show, often giving her friends free law advice. She sort of pursued a related path in real life because after "S** and the City" wrapped up, she vied for the gubernatorial position in New York, announcing her candidacy in 2018.

Although Nixon didn't win, she still boasts an impressive life and has been married to Christine Marinoni since 2012, and they share a child. Outside politics, the multi-award-winner also appeared on Broadway and in the 2020 Netflix show "Ratched," which also starred Sarah Paulson.

Chris Noth

Mr. Big, the character played by actor Chris Noth, divided the fans of "S** and the City." Many felt that he wasn't good for Carrie since he doesn't like being committed, while others adore him for his charm and believe he and the columnist were meant to be.

Either way, Noth's love life in real life is far more stable than his character. He and his wife Tara Wilson have been married since 2012, and they are raising two kids. Career-wise, he reprised his role as the rich businessman in the 2021 HBO revival.

Nathan Lane

Carrie is good friends with lounge singer Bobby Fine, who is, in fact, Broadway icon Nathan Lane. The character appeared in the fifth season of the HBO program and was written to have expressed interest in marrying Bitsy von Muffling in a lavish ceremony at the Hamptons.

It was a small appearance that not many may remember, but Lane, a Tony and Emmy awardee, is quite a heavyweight in Broadway. He also became successful in becoming a TV superstar as he bagged roles in "American Crime Story," "The Good Wife," and "Charlie Lawrence." In 2020, he starred in "Penny Dreadful: City of Angels" as Lewis.

Will Arnett

Actor Will Arnett, known for being Gob Bluth in the show "Arrested Development," made quite a splash when he guest-starred in "S** and the City" season 2 as Jack. In the episode titled "La Douleur Exquise!" he and Miranda hit it off even though he had one kink: getting intimate in public.

At first, Miranda was still enjoying the thrill, but was later turned off when she found out that Jack was still living with his mom. After this role, Arnett continued to appear in shows like Jeff in "Riviera" and Mark Crane in "The First Team." Fans may also recognize his voice as the titular character in "BoJack Horseman" from 2014 to 2020.
