If there is one thing that celebrities love to do in their free time, it is to hunt for their next real estate investment. Indeed, stars change houses more often than everyday people, both because of the nature of their work, but also because they quickly become bored of their humble abodes. But the houses we’ve seen celebrities buy and sell over the years have been nothing short of exemplary, and although the most expensive ones have been bought by Hollywood A-listers, British stars are not that far behind. Let’s take a look at some of the most expensive houses our favorite Brits have lived in over the years!

David Beckham - $44 Million, West London

Britain’s sweetheart David Beckham is not only a football legend but also has great taste when it comes to purchasing real estate (although we’re slightly inclined to believe it was his wife Victoria who chose it). The Beckhams made the purchase back in 2013 for the sum of $44 million and reportedly spent an additional $11.3 million to make it fit for their posh lifestyle. The mansion has six bedrooms, a gym, a powder room (Victoria got herself covered), a wine cellar, an open fire, a cinema room, and a coffee machine that reportedly has a value of $3,8K. If that is not true luxury, we’re not sure what is!

Jacqueline Jossa - $1.2 Million, Essex

She’s recently revealed to be staying with her parents, but in any case, this is the house that Jacqueline Jossa has been living with her husband and children for the past years. Although it’s dreamy, Jacqueline said that she moved out for a while, in 2020, in order to relax.

The house is decorated in grey tones, starting from the walls and moving on to the furniture. It has enough room for both her children, as well as her and her husband. It comes with a spacious living room and a large backyard with a patio. Jacqueline won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2019.

Harry Styles - $8.495 Million, Hollywood Hills

Hollywood Hills has always been the prime residential locality for our favorite celebrities, and Harry Styles made that decision as well. The house cost him $6.87 million when he purchased it, but now, for whatever reason (maybe he’s just bored of it), the One Direction star is bent on selling it for $8.495 million. The hike in price seems too much considering he held the house for only approximately 1.5 years (an increase of more than 19% in value) but considering that the 4,100-sq.-ft. living space offers four lavish bedrooms, including a master suite on the top floor, a spa, and a pool, the price is justified, as long as it includes a sufficient home insurance plan.

Ed Sheeran - $12.5 Million,  North London

Before making it big as an artist, Ed Sheeran lived on the street for a couple of years, which is unbelievable because the star now probably has a financial advisor to help him spend his millions wisely. It was reported in 2015 that the singer invested around $12.5 million in buying a home for himself in the very expensive North London area, which made us so happy because he for sure deserves all the comfort in the world. The house comes with four bedrooms, a wine cellar which reportedly holds over 1,000 bottles, and of course a studio for Sheeran’s jamming sessions.

Steven Gerrard – $49K A Month, Beverly Hills

When Steven Gerrard moved to LA with his wife Alex, the couple chose a house valued at $25.4 million. Although the couple must have that kind of cash in their bank account, they still chose to rent the place at a staggering $49K/month. The house came with six bedrooms and bathrooms, a pool, many water features, which are not commonplace in houses, and a panoramic view of the city, all in 12,000 sq. ft. Of course, they’re not just paying for the view, but also the amazing kitchen, the three grandiose living rooms, and a cinema.

Matt Smith - $1.09 Million, North London

Matt Smith, whom we all adored on the show Doctor Who, bought his North London house for a staggering $1.09 million in 2010. The property, which was previously a church at some point in time, was the end of a long search for the perfect place to live by the actor. The actor’s stint on Doctor Who was very successful, although it was a gamble by the makers of the show since the actor was not as popular as they would’ve liked to bring in sufficient ratings. Regardless, the show attracted around 1.2 million people to the screens on its first episode starring Smith.

Louis Tomlinson - $21 Million, Hollywood

Louis Tomlinson, the much-beloved member of the world-famous boy band One Direction, chose to live larger than life by purchasing a $21 million house in Hollywood in 2016. Almost every luxury house for sale in California has seen its share of partying, but this one has built a reputation of being Hollywood’s party house, having hosted the likes of Richard Gere, and even the Rolling Stones. The house, constructed on an area of 4,529 sq. ft. has a home theatre, a guest house, a garage capable of holding four cars, a pool which is brick-paved, and four bedrooms.

Robert Pattinson - $2.1 Million - Hollywood Hills

Twilight fans would be particularly interested to know how the leading star, Robert Pattinson, who plays the vampire Edward Cullen in the franchise, lives his life. Well, he’s living large alright, having invested in Los Angeles real estate luxury back in 2014. For a sum of $2.1 million, the star was able to grab a 1,940-sq.-ft. space which gave him two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which sounds like barely enough to accommodate a small family. But Rob is no family man yet, and so he probably cared more about the vaulted ceilings, the security system which came pre-installed, the skylights, the pool and the hot tub, and the cozy fireplace, when he made his decision. Good choice, Rob!

Cheryl Cole - Approximately $27K A Month, Hertfordshire

In 2017, Cheryl announced she was moving in with her One Direction bae, Liam Payne, which meant she no longer needed her own accommodation in Hertfordshire. The singer reportedly made her abode available for rent at £19K/month, which is roughly $27K, and although it may seem like too much for an 8,000-sq.-ft. house, once you consider that the structure won the International Property Award, it seems rather justified. With recessed lighting, porcelain floors, and a glazed entrance, if you have that kind of income, we highly recommend you try this place out for a while.

Keira Knightley - $6 Million, New York

The famous actress has generated around $6 million from the sale of her TriBeCa home, which offers all the luxuries one could want in a house located in the opulent Manhattan area of NYC. The wooden accents with geometric patterns are gorgeous enough to make anyone want this place, but it’s also quite spacious and roomy for the rational customer. With two floors having three bedrooms on an area of 3,820 sq. ft., which, by the way, does not include the 900 sq. ft. patio which offers as much privacy as a star of her stature might need, it’s safe to say Kiera Knightley made the right choice with this one!

Paul McCartney - $15.5 Million, NYC

Fifth Avenue is one of the most iconic streets in the world, known for its elegance and poise, and it’s a dream for any real estate agent to deal in houses located there. Well, rents here start in the tens of thousands, and if you wish to purchase property, that could cost you tens of millions. A similar purchase was made by Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell, his wife, when they went for a duplex penthouse located at 1045 Fifth Avenue for a price of $15.5 million. The residence has five bedrooms, five bathrooms excluding another half bathroom, and an unbeatable view of Central Park near the Ancient Playground and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir.

Jude Law - $6.8 Million, London

Back in 2013, Jude Law, who gave us a splendid performance in Side Effects that same year, put his London luxury house for sale with a price of $6.8 million. The residence is obviously gated to offer a greater sense of security to its occupants and offers four bedrooms to make a comfortable living space for several guests. But the true luxury of the house lies in the smaller things, such as the granite counter-tops which blatantly showcase the grandeur of the place. And if that is not enough, the glass conservatory-themed dining room should be enough to make anyone want to purchase this place. But the fact remains, it would take the average person years to afford this kind of luxury!

Julie Andrews - $32.54 Million, Belgravia

Julie Andrews’ Belgravia mansion is now up for sale for $32.54 million asking price. The real estate is a Grade II listed property and had been renovated ever since Andrews moved there in the 1970s. The Belgravia mansion was built in 1835-36 and has been fully refurbished since then. The breathtaking mansion boasts six bedrooms, a private theater, a gym, and a spa with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The luxurious Belgravia mansion will surely win the hearts of potential buyers.

Simon Cowell - $24 Million, California

Simon Cowell, whom we all know mostly from his role as judge on American Idol as well as Britain’s Got Talent (and sometimes dislike because he is a bit too blunt with contestants), ended his 2017 in style by putting $24 million in real estate investment to get his hands on a luxurious Malibu mansion. The 8,600-sq.-ft. space was reportedly constructed in 1988 and offers six bedrooms, all with wooden floors, high ceilings, and large skylights throughout the house. Not to mention the many fireplaces (there are five!) which grace the house at every corner. Honestly, it looks more like a resort, which makes it one of the most relaxing houses we’ve ever seen!

Adele - $9.5 Million, Beverly Hills

Adele has emerged as one of the most celebrated singers of our generation around the world, and her numerous Grammy wins prove her prowess beyond a reasonable doubt. So, it’s only fitting that in 2016 she became a real estate investor and made the $9.5-million move to acquire a gorgeous house in Beverly Hills, inside a gated community. The inside of the house is nothing short of exemplary. Built on two-story design, the large staircase is a sight to behold. The large kitchen encourages even the worst of cooks to develop a passion for the culinary arts. The four bedrooms allow for Adele to have a lot of company over whenever she wants, especially her British relatives and friends, but if you’re not one of them, you can just say hello from the outside!

Martin Freeman - $1.3 Million, London

Martin Freeman’s split with his Sherlock co-star and now ex-wife Amanda Abbington was heart-breaking for all of us, as we had grown to love the pair, partly due to their amazing chemistry on the show. Before their split, however, the couple used to live in a house that was reportedly worth £900K ($1.3 million) as of 2013, the same year that Amanda declared bankruptcy over a tax bill worth £120K. Clearly, Amanda has not been doing as well as Martin, who, after featuring in The Hobbit, is estimated to be worth over $15 million.

Peter Andre & Emily MacDonagh – $6 Million, West Sussex

A year after Emily MacDonagh got married to Peter Andre, they moved into this gigantic 14.2-acre property in West Sussex. The house was built back in 2003 on a Victorian style. It has four floors and a separate 2-bedroom guesthouse. They reportedly paid around $6 million to acquire it.

Overall, it boasts six bedrooms, the four of which are located inside the main house. It becomes complete with a billiards room, a hot tub, a large backyard with a swimming pool, and even a tennis court! They now co-parent four children, two of which they had together.

Ryan Giggs - $2.68 Million, Salford

The Salford mansion which has been Ryan Gigg’s abode for a long time now came with a purchase price of $2.68 million when he bought it back in 2004. The former footballer reportedly demolished the over-a-century-old building to construct the much more modernized house we see today. After having spent a lot of cash (some sources claim nearly $4.25 million), the place he called home had an indoor pool, a gym, a sauna, and six bedrooms offering ample space for family and friends. However, considering that he split with his wife in 2017, we don’t think he’d be needing that much space anymore.

Gareth Bale -  $14K A Month, Spain

After signing on with Real Madrid in a record deal back in 2013, the soccer star Gareth Bale, who plays number 11 forward position for the team, decided to move closer to his Madrid teammates by renting a £10K (approx. $14K) house owned by Ricardo Kaka. The house, built with two stories, has four bedrooms, an indoor pool, a gymnasium, and a big enough garage to accommodate six cars at a time. But the main selling point of all the houses in this neighborhood (and which makes it popular among the football elite) is the privacy.

Idris Elba - $3.47 Million, East London

The British actor, DJ, and musician, Idris Elba, lives on the East London Street in a beautiful home worth a whopping £2.5 million. Elba is not considering moving somewhere else but he wants to do something his neighbors don’t really agree with. Elba wants to invest money in building a film and music video studio in the basement of his house. The residents aren’t thrilled about that idea since it can cause a lot of noise, especially as Elba plans on having his underground studio working 15 hours a day.

Chris Martin - $14 Million, Malibu

Another celebrity breakup which crushed our hearts was between Coldplay singer Chris Martin and Iron Man actress Gwyneth Paltrow, back in 2016. But before their unfortunate split, the couple had bought a house worth around $14 million on the beachside of Malibu, supposedly so that Chris Martin could remain in relatively close proximity to his two children, whom the couple wished to co-parent. Reportedly, Chris Martin bought the property with his own funds, which makes sense considering he had to move out. But the house is luxurious enough that we don’t think Marin is complaining all too much.

Graham Norton - $3.24 Million, Bexhill-on-Sea

It was reported in October 2017 that Graham Norton, the Irish television presenter, was putting his house up for grabs with a £2.3 million price tag (about $3.24 million). The property, with access to a private beach, has six bedrooms including a master bedroom that is known for its English-ness. The floors are underheated, and the grandiose balconies offer amazing views both on the front and the backside of the house. It goes without saying that it comes with a swimming pool as well, a living room that is as roomy as it can be, and privacy which celebrities can only dream of, but the price is mostly because of the sea. And it’s totally worth it!

Jonathan Ross – Unknown Price, London

Even though there’s no record of how much Jonathan Ross’ house in London is worth, it’s certainly a lot given his $35 million net worth. The house is big enough for his entire family composed of his wife, Jane, and their two daughters, Betty and Honey. As a matter of fact, it also has a separate room for their cats. It includes an office filled with Jonathan’s comic book memorabilia, figurines, and artwork, as well as a separate game room. On the backyard, it also features a shed that looks like a hobbit house. Today, Jonathan not only hosts The Jonathan Ross Show, but he's also a judge in Roast Battle.

Wayne Rooney - $7 Million, Barbados

His wealth management advisor probably warned him against it, because rationally speaking, Wayne Rooney’s $35K/week place in Barbados seems rather over-priced. But that’s only during peak season, like Christmas. During off-season, you can reportedly rent the house for as low as $14/week as well, so it depends on how much you’re willing to spend and if you can get time off then. The gorgeous place has space for hosting 14 guests at max, including the two bedrooms at the separate cottage (which comes at an extra price, of course). A pool, a media room, and amazing views of the sea make this a great place to stay while you’re on your Barbados dream vacation.

Mick Jagger - $30K/week During High Season, Mustique

Mustique is a private island which is a part of West Indies, and Mick Jagger has an estate there which promises to offer you an experience of a lifetime. However, you may have to google how to file bankruptcy after staying there, as the rent starts from $16,5K/week when its low season and has the potential to go up to $30K/week when its busy vacation time. The seclusion on an island is just one of the unique benefits of staying here because the estate is not designed in a single-house structure. Instead, seven detached pavilions with one room each are constructed, connected by a wooden walkway, all with a 25-foot pool as their center. The game room and the entertainment rooms are some of the added luxuries, but honestly, we’re already on board.

J.K. Rowling - $3.1 Million, Edinburgh

All of us enjoyed watching the Harry Potter movies. The person behind the books where the films were based on is the famous British novelist and producer, J.K. Rowling. Rowling's creativity has brought her a net worth of just less than $1 billion. With that kind of fortune, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the popular writer owns one of the most beautiful houses in Britain, located in the secluded area of Edinburgh. The two-floor house has all the luxuries one hopes to have in a home, including an office with a kitchen.

Tony Blair - $24.51 Million, London

Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair proudly owns many properties in and out of London. Most of them are located in Manchester as Blair believes that he could reap huge dividends if the real estates would be sold or rented. Among many houses that the politician owns is a mansion in Buckinghamshire worth £8M, a townhouse near Hyde Park with a price of £8.3M, and one more nearby, worth £1.7M. Roughly, his properties translate to an estimated worth of $25 million.

Tom Daley - $1.53 Million, London

Famous British diver Tom Daley used to own a gorgeous three-floor apartment near the London Bridge. The beautiful flat has three terraces with a hot tub and sun loungers. However, after getting married to his boyfriend, American screenwriter and producer Dustin Lance Black in 2017, the popular diver put the apartment up for sale. Daley shared the news on his Tweeter account, stating that he hopes it would find a lovely new owner.

The Dark Knight actor and Academy Award winner Christian Bale always tries to keep his life as private as possible and that includes everything - from his marriage to the things he spends money on. As far as his fans know, the famous actor has lived in Los Angeles for 25 years and aside from that home, he owns a bungalow in Santa Monica. However, it seems that the actor made a new purchase recently. Reportedly, Bale bought a gorgeous mansion in Brentwood Park for an impressive $8.8 million.

Beyoncé & Jay-Z – $88 Million, Bel Air

Queen B and her husband Jay-Z have a joint net worth estimated at over a billion dollars. The power couple knows how to treat themselves and each other, and there were many presents exchanged between them – from a private jet, a yacht to a brand new Rolls-Royce. In 2008, the famous actor treated himself with a luxury Miami Beach condo. However, ten years later, Caine listed the apartment for sale and managed to sell it for $7.45 million in January 2018. His first price was $8.7 million in 2017 but dropped it to $7.8 million. The condo was also available for rent for $35K per month.

Daniel Radcliffe - $13.95 Million, Empire Property

Known for playing the character of Harry Potter in the Harry Potter films, Daniel Radcliffe has cemented his name in the film industry. Elizabeth Hurley - $12.25 Million, Cotswolds

British actress Elizabeth Hurley bought an amazing mansion near the village of Barnsley in Gloucestershire for £3.3 million, in 2002. At the time, she was in a relationship with business mogul Arun Nayar and she hoped she’d live a farmer’s life. Just five years later, the couple married in 2007 but filed for a divorce in 2011. In 2015, Hurley put her gorgeous home on the market and sold it for a whopping £9 million ($12.25 million). The huge property comes with many luxuries, including a dining room, sitting room, nine bedrooms, and six bathrooms.

Heidi Klum - $24 Million, L.A.

It was built in Italian style and it comes with ten bathrooms, eight bedrooms, swimming pools, a spa, and a children’s playhouse. Shortly after Klum filed for a divorce from her husband, she listed the house and sold it for $24 million.

Miley Cyrus - $2.5 Million, Malibu

Her many talents have earned the famous artist a net worth of $200 million. Making wise business decisions, Cyrus already invested in a couple of real estates in the United States. Her most recent find is a beautiful home located in Malibu. The mansion comes with a car garage, four bedrooms, a gazebo, Jacuzzi, kitchen, and four bathrooms, among many other luxuries.

Jennifer Lawrence – $8 Million, Beverly Hills

The Hunger Games and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence was searching for a new home back in 2014. The famous actress didn’t wait too long and decided to buy a nice 5,000-square-foot mansion in the secluded area of Beverly Hills. Lawrence paid $8 million and we are sure she didn’t feel the burden of this purchase since her net worth is estimated at $110 million. The previous owner of the house was Jessica Simpson. Designed in a French style, Lawrence's Beverly Hills mansion comes with six bathrooms and five bedrooms.

Orlando Bloom - $7 Million, Beverly Hills

The Lord of the Rings and the Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom decided to spend some of his hard-earned money and treat himself to a new home. When it first appeared on the market, the asking price was $11.9 million. Just a year later, the price dropped and the famous actor gave $7 million for his new 4,009-square-foot residence. Bloom didn’t need to remodel the deluxe house since it came with everything he needed such as a large kitchen, four bathrooms, a master suite, four bedrooms, and a private courtyard.

Andy Murray - $8.1 Million, Surrey

Professional tennis player Andy Murray purchased a new home for nearly £3 million, in Surrey. However, Murray was recently on the court, asking permission to demolish the old house and build a new home with a pool and a gym for his wife Kim Sears and their two children. He won the case and will be able to build the mansion that he wants. The current residence includes an indoor swimming pool, game room with a cinema, sauna, Jacuzzi, and six bedrooms. Aside from the main house, there is also a summerhouse and a triple garage.

We all remember the Osbourne family home as we watched it on the reality TV show The Osbournes, which aired from 2001 until 2005. The show made the whole family instant celebrities. There have been some rumors that the couple wanted to sell the house but it appears that there's no truth to that.

Simon Pegg - $13.50K A Month, Los Angeles

British actor, producer, and Star Trek star Simon Pegg also found his spot on this list. However, unlike many celebs who own mansions, the popular actor is renting an apartment in Los Angeles. Decorated in an English style, the flat is like a cozy cottage. It's not that Pegg couldn’t afford to buy a place since he has a net worth of $25 million, but perhaps he prioritizes practicality and convenience over anything else and would rather use his personal finance capacity in some other ways. He pays a monthly rent of $13.50K for this lovely residence.

Catherine Zeta-Jones - $5.075 Million, Bedford

One of the most popular couples in Hollywood, actors Catherine Zeta-Jones and husband Michael Douglas bought a classic mansion in Bedford for $5.075 million back in 2010. Daniel Craig - $6.75 Million, Cobble Hill

Daniel Craig is all set to appear in the next Bond film titled Bond 25, slated for a November 2019 release. But right now, we’re more thrilled about his new four-story house which the actor purchased in the Cobble Hill area of New York according to Page Six. The house is reportedly 6,600 sq. ft. large and sports six bedrooms, five bathrooms excluding another half, high ceilings, a garden, a roof deck, and also a patio. It also has an elevator, so neither Craig nor his wife, actress Rachel Weisz, have to climb the stairs if they don’t want to. Whoever their real estate agent was, deserves a bow as they did a phenomenal job finding this kind of luxury for them!

Gary Oldman - $2.87 Million, Studio City

If you ever get a chance to purchase a luxury house for sale in the Los Feliz area of LA, then know you’ll be surrounded by celebrities like Gary Oldman. The British actor bought a $2.87 million house in the area with his now ex-wife Alexandra Edenborough after selling his $1.695 million house, a sort of an upgrade for his lifestyle, considering how the previous house was smaller (2,400 sq. ft.) compared to the new place (3,168 sq. ft.). Not only that, the new place had more bedrooms (four instead of three), more bathrooms (five instead of three and a half) and was generally more luxurious. Unfortunately, the couple parted ways in 2015, so maybe the upgrade won’t be as useful as he thought it would be unless, of course, his current wife Gisele Schmidt (whom he married in 2017) makes appropriate use of it.

Sean Bean - $8.25 Million, Totteridge

Popular English actor and Game of Thrones star Sean Bean decided to spend some of his money on a luxury property in Totteridge around 1998, while he was still married to his second wife, Abigail Cruttenden. The home was put up for sale in February 2018 for £6 million. The beautiful mansion features six bathrooms, two kitchens, eight bedrooms, and a tennis court.

Robbie Williams - $24.7 Million, West London

Robbie Williams must’ve really felt he needed a lot of rooms in his house when he bought his £17.5 million ($24.7 million) mansion in the Holland Park area, which has a shocking, not 10, not 20, not 30, but 46 bedrooms! Sounds unbelievable, right? Well, believe it, because although the place needed a lot of estate planning and renovation by Williams to change it to his liking, its sheer extreme number of rooms makes it one of a kind. Its previous owner, film director Michael Winner, had estimated the price of the house to be near £60 million before passing away in 2013, but that seems to have stemmed mostly from his own personal attachment with the house.

Gary Barlow - $10.24 Million, Cuddington

When it comes to buying home, Gary Barlow made the right choice by purchasing a $1.4 million estate in the Cuddington village area of Cheshire back in 1995, as when he sold it in 2006, the value had quadrupled to $6.65 million. We’re not sure what compelled him to sell the estate, called the Delamere Manor Estate, which spreads over an area of 117 acres of gardens, excluding the buildings. Whatever it was, he must’ve hated himself because only five years after he sold it, the value of the estate shot up to $10.24 million.

Liam Gallagher - $2.32 Million, Hampstead

Hampstead has been the locality of choice for celebrities as the area is home to some of the most luxurious houses we’ve ever seen. Liam Gallagher, who became extremely popular as the lead singer of the band Oasis, lived in the area for a few years, before selling his home in 2014. Now the house is reportedly up for grabs once again at the price of $2.33 million, and if you have that kind of cash and choose to purchase it, you could enjoy the many amenities it has to offer, including an open living area with natural lighting, a kitchen pre-equipped with all the appliances you’ll need, and a patio terrace at the back to allow you a comfortable time in the outdoors, without having to leave the house.

Damon Albarn - $3.63 Million, London

Damon Albarn has been associated with the band Gorillaz since the late ‘90s, a band he co-founded, and is also the lead singer of Blur, a band which has made a name for itself around the world. The singer reportedly has a net worth of around $40 million, which basically puts him in the A-league of celebrities. Hence, it only makes sense for him to live in a house that supposedly cost him $3.36 million back when he bought it in 2003. Albarn’s means certainly allow for such luxury, and although sadly we don’t have an inside look of the house, considering the price, it must be a house worthy of Albarn’s stature.

Lily Allen - $5.96 Million, Cotswolds

If there is anything celebrity real estate investment has taught us, it’s that buying very expensive houses not only allows them to live in style and extreme luxury, but also when they sell these houses, they end up making a profit. That is exactly what Lily Allen is after. She purchased a house worth $4.25 million back in 2010, and in 2016 put it up for a listed price of $5.96 million. That is an over 33% increase in value in just six years. The house is amazing though, with giant fireplaces and door architraves reminiscent of bygone eras, and six bedrooms excluding the three in the separately-built cottage. It also has a pool and two barns on the outside, so that its residents can be sure to have a diversified living experience.

The whole mansion is even customized with Italian pieces of furniture.

The house features six bedrooms with an enormous amount of intricate details which really resembles the singers' style. David Gilmour - $16.3 Million, South Oxfordshire

Pink Floyd member, David Gilmour, purchased a mansion in South Oxfordshire in 1980. The Hook End Manor is a 25-acre property and has a total of 11 bedrooms. Recently, leaked photos of the Hook End Manor caught people’s attention. The mansion has been neglected for a few decades and everything inside suffered major disrepair, a gravestone has also been sighted in the basement. Gilmour seems to be in luck, according to the Daily Mail and The Sun, the property still has a value of  £12 million (approx. $16.3 million).

In 2004, he bought the famous Esher mansion that has been home to royalties and celebrities like George Harrison, guitarist of the Beatles. However, the house was put on sale after Frank ended his relationship with ex-fiancee Elen Rivas in 2012. The beautiful Esher mansion had an asking price of $9.5 million and up to this date still has no potential buyers. It is located in Surrey countryside with a Tudor architectural style. Now married, Frank and his wife has no plans on moving to the mansion. The couple has agreed on a settlement of $12,221 per month to lease the building and will now let them earn $144.7K per year.

The proposed mega-home will have six bedrooms, a luxurious underground pool, gym, cinema room, and stables that can cater up to 14 horses. It has also been rumored to have its own football pitch. Some have described the new pad to be classier than the new Celebrity Big Brother house.

At first, Daltrey had no means of buying a home in Burwash. After selling his cottage to production manager John Wolff, he was able to buy Holmshurt Manor for the price of $52,739. Daltrey has also built a fishery and installed his own recording studio on one of the barns. Andrew Lloyd Webber - Sydmonton

The Sydmonton Court has evolved and developed through different periods dating back from the 17th century. It shares very a similar details from a 19th-century landscape. Actress Kate Beckinsale, famous for her role in Pearl Harbor, Underworld, Van Helsing, and The Aviator now lives in a $3.595M mansion with her Husband, Director Len Wiseman. The newly bought home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Her crazy sense of humor and interior design style has also been impressive. You can check out her Instagram account if you want to discover what we mean by her crazy sense of humor and interior design style.

Rosamund Pike - London

You probably remember her as the wife who went missing and started to plot an unbelievable yet impressive revenge against her husband in the hit movie, Gone Girl. Rosamund Pike rose to fame after her appearance in the film. Pike is primarily situated in London with his partner and two sons in a 1830s Georgian Home she successfully restored. She started restoring from the outside and explored techniques used in the Georgian era to preserve the architectural design. She probably wouldn't sell this lovely home, don’t you think?

Julie Walters - Plaistow

English singer and actress Julie Walter enjoys a good life in The Lee House farm with her hubby Grant Roffey. The Lee House Farm is an organic farm located on West Sussex Village in Plaistow. The actress has been finicky in choosing her roles as she prefers to spend more time on the farm. It seems like the actress will be planning for her retirement soon. Julie has been known for a multitude of films including Harry Potter, Billy Elliot, Educating Rita, Calendar Girls, Mamma Mia, Brave, Driving Lessons, and Paddington.

Dominic West - London

When it came to refurbishing their 1840s home in London, actor Dominic West and landscape designer wife, Catherine Fitzgerald took the matter into their own hands. The couple transformed the property into a single-family residence and designed it with delicate patterns and memorabilia from their travels. It was a hard make-over but the couple felt something magical inside the building, the place for them, had a personality.

Ringo Starr - $19 Million, Surrey

When you have millions to spare, it is much better to invest in luxurious houses than to invest in gold, a choice of many as the price of the metal is quite stable around the world. Take Ringo Starr as an example, who rose to international glory as the drummer for the band The Beatles, as he invested $2.8 million back in 1999 and bought an estate with an area of over 200 acres. The estate, called Rydinghurst, dates back to the 17th century and is complete with whatever you could ever imagine owning as part of a home. The star sold it in 2015 for a whopping $19 million, as he and his wife, Barbara Bach (who was a Bond Girl once), spend a lot more time in LA.

Zayn Malik - $3.11 Million, London

Seldom do teenagers get to purchase housing which costs a couple of million dollars, but Zayn Malik was no ordinary teenager back in 2012 when he spent $3.1 million on buying a house for himself in London. The house came with six bedrooms, which is clearly more than what he needed (although it is just enough to accommodate his family if and when they visit), but what really stole his heart was the ginormous indoor pool. Whatever the case, there is no doubt Malik is quite responsible with his funds, as we’ve rarely seen the star make poor financial choices. Good going, Zayn!

Stephen Fry - $1.41 Million, Norfolk

The house where legendary comedian Stephen Fry developed his amazing personality and grew up in was put on the market for the sum of $1.4 million back in 2010. The house, called the Booton House, was not always as modernized as it is now, thanks to the many renovations to repair the water damage and restorations, and still gives off that historic vibe with its arched doorways as well as high windows. The surrounding area is a farming village, which is perfect for anyone who wishes to become more connected with nature. The seven-bedroom place, built on an area of 7,212 sq. ft. is still referred to as Fry’s house, although the star sold off most of it back in 2002.

John Cleese - $8.25 Million, Montecito

John Cleese, famous as part of the hit comedy group Monty Python, was once the proud owner of this beautiful Montecito house, which was put on the listings for the price of $8.25 million in 2016. The house charged such a hefty price for the amazing view it had to offer, and also for the multilevel decks, the gardens, the living space of 3,942 sq. ft. equipped with all the basic necessities for a celebrity like a 1000-bottle cellar for wine storage, a beautiful fireplace naturally installed in the living room, as well as a kitchen built in contemporary style. For the utilitarian in you, the house has three bedrooms and an equal number of full bathrooms, plus a half bathroom.

Sacha Baron Cohen - $17.72 Million, Laurel Canyon

You can try to convince us that there is a star more lovable and more dedicated to the profession than Sacha Barron Cohen and we’ll prove you wrong every time. Starting out with his Ali G beginnings, the actor’s business plan is all about devoutly embodying the characters he plays, so that they become entirely believable. His character Borat is recognized around the world, even though many people don’t know his actual name. His LA house choice is just like him, as it embodied the essence of a house quite perfectly. Built in the English country style, the house was bought by Cohen back in 2010 for a price of $17.72 million and has seven bedrooms.

Hugh Laurie - $2.83 Million, Hollywood Hills

It must be very difficult for British stars to make the move to the States (which is where most of their career prospects lie), which is culminated when they make the purchase of a house. Huge Laurie made a similar decision back in 2008 when he bought a $2.83 million house in the extremely rich Hollywood Hills area. The house, which can be more accurately described as a luxurious mansion, has also been referred to as a garden paradise of a magical kind by spectators. The 3,242-sq.-ft. home, apart from rooms and bathrooms, gives its resident a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a guest house as well.

Eric Idle - $1.09 Million, Los Angeles

The Monty Python humor remains fresh to this day, and all the legends who were part of the group will forever remain embedded in our memory, including Eric Idle. The comedian did not hesitate with the money transfer when he bought a $1.09 million home in LA. The house has a very unappealing vibe to it, especially when compared to usual celebrity abodes. Instead of the seclusion and grandeur which most celebs go for, Idle has chosen this 1,200-sq.-ft. accommodation in the Silver Lake area. However, it has a lot to offer, including gated security, French doors, a mix of wooden flooring and Spanish tiles, and ceramic countertops.

Jimmy Carr - $14.13 Million, Primrose Hill

Jimmy Carr should’ve hired a financial consultant who could’ve intimated to him all the repercussions he could face by evading paying his taxes, even if the act was completely fine from a legal standpoint. The star is reportedly worth £12 million now and has promised to deal with his funds more responsibly in the future. Back in 2010, it was reported that he and his long-time partner, Karoline Copping, went ahead with the purchase of a house that cost them around $14.1 million. We’re not sure whether they split the charge or not, but considering the fact that Carr saved millions in tax, buying the house would not have been very problematic.

Jennifer Saunders - $1.41 Million, United Kingdom

Celebrities have been increasingly buying real estate in the rural areas due to the much-needed distance for the bustling city life, and actress and comedian Jennifer Saunders has joined in. Along with her husband Ade Edmondson, another famed comedian, the couple pooled in $1.41 million to purchase 5 acres of land including the main house for the entire family, even though they already lived in a more expensive house, valued at $3.1 million at that time. But it wasn’t about funds for them. They bought the house for its rural vibe, as it lay 200 miles farther from Dartmoor. At least now Saunders can relax about providing a healthier lifestyle for her kids.

Dawn French - $4.24 Million, Cornwall

According to CornwallLive, Dawn French could barely afford to purchase the $4.24 million house which she did back in 2006, and in fact, she had to go on tour with Jennifer Saunders, her partner in comedy, to collect enough funds in her bank account to make the purchase. The house had 40 rooms, which seems like too much, but once you consider the rural lifestyle, houses were built like that to accommodate the residents and guests, which were expected to be many. French finds the busy city life quite upsetting, and so getting her hands on the house became a top priority for her. We’re glad she got it!

James Corden - $10 Million, California

The Late, Late Show has gotten all of us laughing out of our minds at one point or another, and its host James Corden deserves all the credit for it. Of course, with such popularity come a lot of rewards, both financially and otherwise, and so in 2017, he was able to afford the purchase of a $10 million house in the Brentwood area of LA. The spacious abode which offers five bedrooms, a pool, a spa, a fire pit, arrangements for BBQ, and eight bathrooms, is just enough for Corden’s growing family which includes his wife and three children.

Alan Carr - Coventry

Actor Alan Carr does not actually own this house, but it does look an awful lot like him. Called the Whitefriars Gatehouse, the building was a toy museum before it closed in 2008. The property is quite old, with some reports dating it as far back as the middle ages, and has suffered quite a lot as well, including a fire that ruined it in 2009. However, the city council, which owned the property at the time, renovated it and listed it for sale in 2010. The value of the place is dubious, but one thing is for sure: Alan Carr has now become a part of the house’s history, and the house has become a part of his.

Rowan Atkinson - $3.66 For Land and Estimated $7.06 Million for Construction, Oxfordshire

Rowan Atkinson bought the land for his multi-million-dollar home in Oxfordshire in 2006 for a sum of $3.66 million -which is quite a lot for just land in our opinion- which included the Handsmooth House (built in the '30s) at the time as well. However, Rowan had his own plans for the 16 acres of land and wanted a house which was completely modern, with a glass and steel structure. The plans for the house, designed by famed architect Richard Meier, were approved in 2010 and incorporated five bedrooms, living room with an atrium-like style, solar paneled roofs, and a garage hidden in the secrecy of the green land. The estimated cost of the entire construction was around $7.6 million!

Emilia Clarke - $4.64 Million, Venice

In the game of homes, Emilia Clarke, emerged an obvious winner when she bought a $4.64 million house for herself in the Venice neighborhood of California. The house was built in the year 2009 on an area of 2,817 sq. ft. and has only two bedrooms and three bathrooms, which means the money invested is actually for all the luxuries. The interior is well lit with natural lighting, a cornerstone of modern architecture, which gives it a very tranquil aura, something which Clarke must appreciate. The soaring ceilings and the glass doors offer an openness quite rare in indoor accommodations, but if you must go outside, the house has a 30-foot-long swimming pool at your service.

Lena Headey - $1.94 Million, Sherman Oaks

Lena Headey decided to part ways with her Sherman Oaks place for the price of $1.945 million, which would render her investing strategy a success, considering the Game of Thrones actress bought the place for a mere $790K not too long ago. The partially modern structure has a classic brickwork that maintains its ‘50s appeal quite nicely, while the open layout allows for a roomy interior for the residents. The brick fireplace is enough to heat up the living space, while the five bedrooms and four full bathrooms (and another half bathroom) all cozied-up in a 2,900-sq.-ft. area, bring the house full circle, making it one of the best value-for-money properties we’ve ever seen by a celebrity!

Russell Brand - $3.53 Million, London

Russell Brand, the famous comedian, put his house in Hampstead on the market for a whopping $3.53 million back in 2009, a move sparked by his desire to come to the United States and live with Katy Perry, who he married in 2010. Of course, since he had planned on marrying Perry, there was no longer any need for his bachelor pad, an apartment built on 2000 sq. ft. with kinky mirrors and a hot tub (where we bet Brand has had a lot of fun). Unfortunately, their marriage ended quite abruptly in 2012, leaving all the effort which Brand made to make the relationship work go down in vain.

Cara Delevingne - $2.20 Million, Los Angeles

When good-looking Los Angeles real estate luxury property comes on the market, you can be sure it gets snapped pretty quickly by the ever-looking home buyers of Hollywood. Supermodel Cara Delevingne and her sister Poppy did the same when Jared Leto put up his house on the listings for a price of $2.2 million. The pad has two kitchens, allowing for both to make their own meals at the same time. Built on an area of 12,485 sq. ft., the four-bedroom house also has three bathrooms, a pool which is right next to a hot tub, and a pre-installed BBQ mechanism to allow for the perfect pool party. There is no doubt the girls are going to have quite a lot of fun in this one!

Kit Harington - $2.46 Million, East Anglia

It was revealed in 2017 that the Game of Thrones couple Kit Harington and the gorgeous Rose Leslie, who stole our hearts (and also broke it into a million pieces) with their on-screen romance, made the decision to buy a $2.46 million residence for themselves on the countryside. The beautiful house is situated in the East Anglia area, and we’ve heard the locals, who are quite used to celebrities living there, respect their privacy. The house has seven bedrooms, which would be enough to accommodate any children that the couple may have in the future, but also is romantic enough with its 15th-century aura to allow for some of the best memories of their lives. We wish the best for them!

Colin Firth - $2.12 Million, Chiswick

The home which was featured in the 2003 film Love Actually as the residence of Colin Firth’s character, Jamie Bennett, immediately caught our eye for its peculiar appeal. Located in the Chiswick area, the Grade II-listed residence was put on sale for a price of £1.5 million as of 2016. The flat boasts two bedrooms, which seemed quite comfortable for Colin and his wife(of course before he found out that she was having an affair), a dining room with an open-plan design, and high ceilings.

Henry Cavill - $5.5 Million, California

It’s only fitting that Superman gets to live a life of luxury on Earth without having to get a home loan after saving the planet against undefeatable evil. And so, it is, although Henry Cavill earned every penny of what he spent on his approx. $5.5 million mansion. The privacy which the mansion offers is incomparable to many top-notch residential places in the world, which makes sense considering its located in a remote area along the shoreline of Lake Sherwood. It is roughly 20 minutes from Hollywood, which means a small commute for Cavill when he must answer the call of duty. The home reportedly has four bedrooms, a movie room (to watch and re-watch all the Superman films), a pool, and separate guest quarters for visitors.

Ricky Gervais - $15.26 Million, North London

Legendary comedian Ricky Gervais moved into his eight-bedroom, $15.26-million, newly-bought mansion back in 2016, and we couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw pictures of it. So beautiful. So majestic. So… words fail us! Apparently, his wife, Jane Fallon, was in-charge of the moving this time, and so she was the seen doing the hard work. The house is beyond even the ones we are shown in luxury real estate ads, built in red brick with a princely interior. During the move, we saw a lot of fitness equipment going into the house, including golf clubs and a punching bag, and the fact that the house also has a gym makes it clear Gervais is taking fitness rather seriously.

Benedict Cumberbatch - $15.22 Million, California

Benedict Cumberbatch found his home in a $15.22 million residence in the Hidden Hills area of Los Angeles, and the beautiful house is eye-candy for real estate enthusiasts. With seven bedrooms, the villa is designed in a Tuscan-style and comes with a tennis court that is private enough for the star to play the sport peacefully, without the glaring eyes of the paparazzi. The house also has a cinema room where Cumberbatch can watch his work on the big screen, a gym for all his workout needs, a garage big enough to accommodate five cars, and a library to keep his Sherlock mind busy.

Emily Blunt - $8 Million, Brooklyn

We honestly thought Emily Blunt and John Krasinski would not be moving anytime soon considering they purchased their 3,990-sq.-ft. house in the Brooklyn area in 2015, and had it renovated and decorated it to their liking. The reason why they’ve decided to ditch it is due to lack of utility considering how the husband and wife got busy filming their movie A Quiet Place (which Krasinski also directed). Well, if they’re able to sell it for the stated price of $8 million, their investing strategy would get them a $2 million approx. return. Now that is called a profitable deal!

Patrick Stewart - $756K, Yorkshire Dales

We were rather shocked when Sir Patrick Stewart revealed in 2016 that he was selling his Yorkshire Dales residence for £535K (approx. $756K), a place which has remained under his ownership for around 25 years. The actor, who has other houses which he uses more frequently (one in Cotswolds and another in Brooklyn), has a very strong bond with the house for the on-demand seclusion it offered to him. It has four bedrooms, insulated roof, oak furniture, and an Inglenook fireplace with an arched lintel. We’re sure the actor would’ve loved to keep the place for longer, but when it comes to wealth management, such difficult decisions must be made. It’s for the best!

Kate Moss - $3.8 Million, England

We all love to follow the style of our favorite celebrities because they are just so good at it. But imagine buying a home which has been decorated by a celebrity like, say, Kate Moss. Well, such a house did go on sale back in 2015 for the price of $3.8 million. Situated 90 minutes away from the bustling city of London in Cotswolds, the estate has an entertainment deck on the outside and also a private pool to keep guests entertained. The sofas in the living room are covered in velvet covers and are by the brand Talisman, among other designer furnishings. It’s a mix of glamour and modern design with nature. Truly, a masterpiece!

Mel B - $9 Million, Los Angeles

Mel B, full name Melanie Brown, was one of our most favorite Spice Girls, and so we were obviously heartbroken when she split from her husband of almost ten years, Stephen Belafonte in 2017. Their house came on real estate market that same year for a price of almost $9 million, and the contemporary-styled place which was constructed in 1928 definitely justifies its price, considering it was renovated in 2016. The renovations allowed for more natural light to come in, which is what modernity is all about in houses these days, making the 6,000 sq. ft. accommodation an exquisite living experience. The house also has four bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, complete with walk-in closets, with the terraces overlooking the outdoor pool.

Jackie Collins - $21 Million, Beverly Hills

Although famed novelist Jackie Collins is no longer among us, she continues to make the news. Her Beverly Hills home, which came on the market with a price tag of $30 million, was sold in 2016 for a shockingly lower price of $21 million. The new owner is reportedly real estate mogul Ben Nehmadi. The estate is sprawled over an area of 21,784 sq. ft. and has eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms and also five more half bathrooms to allow for ample resting spots for the residents and their guests. But considering that Jackie got the place for $3 million back in the ‘80s, considering the value of money at the time, Nehmadi surely got a great bargain with the house.

Minnie Driver - $2.465 Million, Hollywood Hills

Minnie Driver is not new in Los Angeles, but she still retains her wilder traits from back home which are what motivated her to buy a home of this kind in the first place. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom accommodation, with an area span of 2,768 sq. ft., seems quite fitting for her, as it is a gated residence and built on a single story. The windows are multi-paned, the floor is wooden, the fireplace is an old-fashioned wood-burning one, and the French doors are side lit. The terrace has foliage which is tree-shaded, allowing for a more natural feel. The countertops in the kitchen are made of stone yet the appliances are stainless steel. It is everything one can dream of in a house, and the price of $2.465 million seems rather reasonable!

Prince Harry - Nottingham Cottage

When it comes to royalty, there is no point estimating the value of their real estate, as it is going to be exorbitantly high. Or at least, that is the commonly-held perception. But the problem exists with the fact that properties held by the Crown seldom make it to the housing market, and hence a price is never estimated. Similar is the case of Nottingham Cottage (which is actually in Kensington), which now has Prince Harry and his fiancé Meghan Merkle as its new residents. The cottage has two bedrooms, two rooms which act as the reception area, a bathroom, and also a small garden. Sounds too small for royalty, right? But consider this, if they ever feel suffocated, they can always go to Kensington Palace which is not that far from it!

Anthony McPartlin - $3.24 Million, London

Ant McPartlin’s problem with alcohol addiction is no secret, but regardless of his issues, he has been able to amass $88 million in worth from working extensively on TV. In the summer of 2006, McPartlin bought a house worth $3.24 million for him and his wife, Lisa Armstrong (whom he married that same year). The house, situated in London, had been the couple’s abode since then. However, he has reportedly been living elsewhere in London since November 2017, and has announced his split from his make-up artist wife.

Declan Donnelly - $2.68 Million, London

Declan Donnelly, commonly referred to simply as Dec, has a history of living close to his professional partner Ant McPartlin. After Ant moved to his marital home, Dec decided to remedy the situation by purchasing a house located three doors down from Ant’s new home. The new house cost him £1.9 million and wanting to make it look like the one Ant had, he decided to demolish it, hired the same architect who designed Ant’s house and asked him to make one just like that for him. The presenters make a great team, and although Ant’s alcohol abuse must cause a lot of problems, as long as they’re together, it should be alright!

Tom Hardy - $2.83 Million, Richmond

Back in 2013, Tom Hardy purchased a house worth $2.8 million probably after sufficient market outlook, with Mick Jagger reportedly as his new neighbor. According to sources, the house has a huge ballroom inside, although in need of reasonable renovation. In 2017, the actor ran into considerable controversy as his neighbors criticized his choice of a chimney, calling it too out-of-place with the overall outlook and prestige of the 18th-century building. But Tom’s not having any of it, as, after all, it’s his house and he can do with it as he pleases!

Anthony Hopkins - $18.6 Million, Malibu

Sir Anthony Hopkins is one of the greatest actors to have graced the screen, and you’d expect the Oscar-winner to prefer a life of luxury. Certainly, back in the early 2000s, Hopkins bought a house which is now estimated to be valued at $18.6 million, which offers a comfortable environment for the actor and his wife. Apart from his acting jobs, Hopkins is also an avid painter and uses the garden house at the estate for this purpose. Considering how much the house has risen in value, Hopkins is definitely a great financial planner to have made the purchase back then.

Dele Alli – $2.44 Million, England

It’s safe to say that now that his house was robbed with him in it, Dele Alli has gotten a new alarm system. Although it was a horrible experience, both he and his girlfriend, who were awake at the time of the incident, are fine. His house, on the other hand, might have suffered some damages.

It’s a $2.4-million mansion located in Hertfordshire, London. It even has a pool. Buying it must have been a no-brainer for Dele, as he might only be 24 years old, but he’s already worth $7 million! Since 2015 he has been playing for Tottenham Hotspur and the English National Soccer Team.

Gemma Collins – Undisclosed Price, Essex

In 2020, Gemma Collins started the Diva on Lockdown reality TV series, sharing with everyone her activities during the outbreak. However, it was not filmed from her home, as she lives in Essex. She moved there reportedly in 2018, around the same time when she went on Celebs Go Dating.

Although its price is undisclosed, given all the success that Gemma’s been having recently, it must have been quite pricey. Upon moving in, she starter remodeling, using diva-esque furniture of her liking and eventually sharing her progress on her social media! In 2020 Gemma also appeared on 8 Out of 10 Cats.

Stacey Solomon - Undisclosed Price, Essex

As her family was expanding, Stacey Solomon and her husband Joe Swash moved into their dream house in Essex, in 2019. That was around the same time they had their youngest baby! They put a lot of work into remodeling it, and now they make sure to keep it nice and tidy.

The house has a large backyard, fenced with a sitting area, and a firepit. It also has enough room to accommodate their family of 5. It has a kitchen with an island and a large family room. Ever since Stacey participated in X-Factor, it’s been an uphill road for her. Now, she’s a panelist on Loose Women.
