One With The Wall

Only eagle-eyed individuals would be able to spot this. And, no, this is not a camera trick. This is the work of talented artist Dain Yoon, who likes to use her body as a canvas for her artwork. She has been described by many as talented, incredible, and spectacular, and it is obvious to see why people say that.

Just look at this painting, which is so believable that it could fool anyone. This type of art falls under what we call  ‘Trompe-l’oeil,’ which is a technique used to trick the eye by creating an optical illusion in a visual artwork.

Fly Away, Butterfly

If you're fond of butterflies, you will surely love this one. Butterflies are one of nature's most beautiful creatures, with over 17,500 species worldwide and around 750 in the United States alone. When butterfly meets art, this is what you get and it's a thing of absolute wonder.

This model looks very happy and proud to display such art, and why wouldn't she be? This colorful, clean, and detailed display is sure to leave many people in admiration, especially with the enchanting choice of colors. This wouldn't look out of place in a magazine as a promo picture for a good cause.

Can't Keep My Hands To Myself

Some people have weird phobias, like chirophobia, or the fear of hands. Well, if you have this phobia, by any chance, don't fret. They're not real, and they can't hurt you. They're just paintings. An interpretation of this could be the unwanted attention some people receive and the struggle to escape from it.

Many artists use works like this to speak for the oppressed in our society, who are all saying, "Help me," and this connects with different people who all have stories to tell. In today's world, there are a lot of communication tools, and this art is one of them.

Lady Of Mystique

Mystique is a very popular character in the "X-Men movies," and it's not hard to see why. She is easily distinguishable from the other characters because of her blue skin and red hair. But, before you go any further, no, this is not the real Mystique," but this is certainly an excellent replication of her costume and look.

She is a member of the subspecies which are known as mutants, and she has the ability to mimic the appearance and voice of anyone she chooses to, and she regularly switches between an anti-hero and a villain in the comics and movies.

Face Off

Admit it; you had to pause for a few seconds to make sure of what you were seeing. It's okay; we did too. Sometimes, all it takes is just a few makeup brushes, some face and body paint, a whole lot of talent, and a person willing to be painted on to make you question your eyes.

This is the work of Dain Yoon, who made this interesting artwork for an article about teen selfhood, and the photos appear on color-saturated backgrounds that add to the sense of wacky sensory overload. She says her everyday activities serve as an inspiration for her art.

Scenic Desert

Sometimes, if you can't go to the desert, you make the desert come to you. Impossible, right? Well, this artist, Gesine Marwedel, seems not to think so as she makes us question if we're lounging at home or in front of a beautiful desert.

She likes to blend themes of human appearance, nature, and animals into one, and center them around the human body, and this scenic landscape view is brought to us with love via a lot of hard work and body paint. And, with the model's expression, it seems like she approves of the art, and we do too.

It's A Pelican, Or Is It?

Upon first glance, you would think that what you see is a picture of a pelican on some sort of reflective surface, most likely water, but that would be where all of us would be wrong. If you take a closer look, especially at the beak, you will notice a foot sticking out.

Only then does it finally dawn on you, and you slowly realize what you are looking at. It's a model painted to look like a pelican. Incredible, if you ask us! The artist's masterful use of colors and background to make the art stand out is quite brilliant.

Sea Voyage

Nothing to see here, just a woman holding up a framed picture painting of a ship in the water. Or is it? You might want to look more closely at that. Upon closer inspection, it's safe to say that there is no picture, just a woman holding up an empty frame.

This is another one of Gesine Marwedel's creations, and it seems like there is almost nothing she cannot do with just a bit of paint, a brush, and a little imagination. She uses her art as a creative therapy and encourages it to people, and she has even published a book about the benefits of body painting.

Explore The Galaxy

Have you ever looked at the nighttime sky through a telescope? It is truly a breathtaking sight to behold and is one of the many beauties of nature that we are lucky to experience. Our galaxy is made up of more than 200 billion stars, and an avid night sky enthusiast can notice the shapes and patterns of the night sky through a telescope.

John Poppleton, the creator of this beauty, utilizes ultraviolet body paint to create scenes of space and nature, breathing life into them through black light. This painting is as kaleidoscopic as it is riveting.

Couch Potato

Have you ever wished to be at home all day doing nothing, all so you could just sit on your couch as you slowly faded into it and you both become one? Be honest; we won't tell anybody. If you have, wish no longer because you finally can. Or at least pretend to for a few minutes.

This makeup and body paint allows you to trick unsuspecting individuals for a few moments. Giving a new meaning to the term "couch potato," the creator of this has done a good job of blending a human with a couch, as she pays attention to the details.

Another Side Of Me

Quick question, which ones are the real faces of these two women? If it took you more than a few seconds, then you have Dain Yoon to thank for that. Her creation seems to give credence to the belief that there are two sides or faces to everyone.

This creation could also tell a story of the lies and hypocrisy that come with friendships with the wrong people. Here we see two women seemingly bonding, with both of them oblivious to the fact that they are both two-faced and not what they seem. Yoon's artwork shows that she is an artist who seemingly enjoys experimenting with faces.

I Heard A Rumor

At first glance, there is a slight chance that you might miss it, but once you see it, you won't be able to take your eyes off it. Another one of Dain Yoon's breathtaking designs, the painting of the face, is very well placed and looks like the real thing, which is a testament to her attention to detail.

Not one to shy away from intricate work with tiny details, this might look small, but it is just as impressive as her full-face art. Some might say that this is even more impressive because of the tiny space she had to work with.

Ladies And Gentlemen, Harley Quinn

Fans of DC Comics might recognize this character, Harley Quinn, as she is a fan favorite. Often the villain and sometimes the reluctant anti-hero, Quinn is mostly known for her alliance with another popular character, The Joker. However, she can also be a lone wolf if and when needed.

This image portrays her in one of her famous costumes, with her innocent-looking smile and a hammer in her hands. You might not want to mess with her, though, as she is known for her aggressive and temperamental behavior. This creator does a good job of bringing this beloved character to life.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Woman

Spider-Man has been a beloved comic book character and one of the most popular superheroes for a very long time. When the movie "Spider-Man" was first released in 2002, it was a massive box office and critical success that people still enjoy today. The character has been played in movies by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland.

But what if there was a Spider-woman movie somewhere in the future? Well, this woman in the superhero body paint is certainly giving us something to think about, and we won't be opposed to that happening. After all, in the comics, there are instances of one or two Spider-Women existing.

Nature's Garden

This creator did a wonderful job of painting a garden on this woman. Together with a dragonfly and a grey-crowned crane, this beautiful painting is supposed to speak of the gift of life and birth, which a woman holds. This piece might also pay homage to nature and its beautiful, diverse wildlife.

But, while admiring the beauty of this artwork, it is important to note that one of the animals represented there, the grey crowned crane, is an endangered species as a result of the animal and its eggs being removed from their habitat, with only less than 33,500 still left.

Getting In The Groove Of Things

Ah, record players! It was a staple from the '60s to the '90s, where every record shop in your neighborhood sold records of your favorite bands and musicians, from The Beatles to Michael Jackson. Though not as popular in today's world, with the rise of streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, it will always have a place in our hearts.

It might be safe to say that music also means a lot to this creator. This stunning piece reminds us that there is a bit of music in everyone and that we should not hesitate to appreciate what it means to us daily.

A Little Landscape Painting

It appears that paintings of nature are a big favorite among the art community, especially if it's well done. They are beloved among art lovers and decorators because of their intrinsic beauty and how they make us feel about the world around us.

This woman has the image of ocean tides in the moonlight painted on her body. An interesting fact about an ocean tide is that it has no beginning and end, and what we see on the beach are just the wave's crest and trough. Another interesting piece of information about tides is that they travel around the world at speeds of up to 450 miles per hour.

Map Quest

A map is simply a symbolic representation of selected characteristics of a place, usually drawn on a flat surface. They are important as they help us navigate through a particular terrain. The first world map was believed to have been invented by the Greek academic Anaximander in the sixth century BC.

And since we're discussing maps, here's one to help you explore the world. The only catch is that you might not be able to take it everywhere with you, as this particular one is painted on a human. Talk about a human guide, literally and figuratively. We doubt anyone might use this map, but it's a beautiful one nonetheless.

Yu-Gi-Oh!

Dark Magician Girl, also known as Black Magician Girl, is a famous anime character in Japan. If you are familiar with the anime series "Yu-Gi-Oh!" you most definitely know about her powerful spells and powers, which she often uses in duels. Her first introduction to audiences was in a duel with Arkana, another powerful character in the series.

This colorful artistic representation from the creator's mind managed to capture her seemingly harmless look, making her look like one of the fairy princesses you would read about in fantasy books and giving you the impression that she couldn't hurt a fly.

Different Faces

We have looked at a couple of Dain Yoon's creations, and this is another one to add to the list. Humans, in general, express different emotions in different circumstances. We often cycle through a range of emotions and can sometimes go from uncertainty to anger, to sadness, to hopefulness, and then happiness, all within a few minutes.

Like this art depicts, life is meant to be lived in every form of it, despite whatever we feel. Humans have diverse sides and personalities and tend to hide them. However, this face art shows all sides of this beauty's personality right there on her face, and it's incredible.

There You Are, Mr. Grinch

The Grinch is a fictional character created by Dr. Seuss in his book "How The Grinch Stole Christmas." The green character has also appeared in a couple of movies. Well, if you ever wondered what the Grinch has been up to and where he is hiding these days, take a look at this. It seems like he has been living among us all this while.

Well, not exactly, but this face art makes it seem like the Grinch has been in disguise, waiting for the perfect opportunity to peel back his layers and reveal his true nature. Props to the artist for such an amazing job.

A Light In The Darkness

German artist, Gesine Marwedel, is one of the very best bodypaint artists around. Many of her spectacular works can be seen all over the internet, and this dazzling beauty right here is one of them. This neon-lit body looks like something straight out of a dream, and it shines through in a dark, empty void.

It's a masterpiece that serves as a reminder that even in the bleakest, darkest days, you should be the light that shines through and that you should not be afraid to stand out. This luminous art is something that we'd love to take home, without the model, of course.

Work Of Art

Art is a game where only the bold and fearless stand out. Striking visuals would most certainly get people's attention. Take this model, for instance. Even with the vibrant and busy background, she still stands out. All the shades of her body combine beautifully in a rhythmic and enchanting way.

We can imagine her as a goddess in a fantasy movie or something straight out of the "Harry Potter" film series, especially with her wand. Or maybe as a character in another franchise who can control flowers and vegetation. It would most certainly be a cool costume to wear on Halloween.

Flamingo Dance

While this might not convince you that there is an actual flamingo in front of you, it doesn't take away from the fact that this is an excellent and detailed painting. From the incredible texture to the transparent feathers on the model's back and even the use of different shades of color to represent the different parts of the bird, the artist did an incredible job.

In case you didn't know, the reason that flamingoes are pink is that it is a result of what they eat. The algae and brine shrimp flamingoes consume contain carotenoids, which a flamingo's body metabolizes to give its feathers their iconic color.

Eve

We all know the story of Adam and Eve, who were reportedly the first people to be created. In case you're unfamiliar with it, according to Christian belief, they lived together in the Garden of Eden. That was until a talking snake persuaded them to eat the forbidden fruit, and they were cast out.

And, speaking of forbidden fruits, we can't help but notice this artist's beautiful depiction of that story. The fruit and the snake are well represented on the body of the model, and anyone who sees this can immediately deduce what this design is trying to say.

It's Jean Grey

No, this is not the Enchantress. Neither is this supposed to be Mystique. Comic book fans can easily guess who this is supposed to represent, and if you still can't see it, let us help you out with that. Jean Grey, also known as Dark Phoenix, is a powerful mutant and character from the comic book series "X-Men," as well as movies of the same name.

Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner are some of the actresses to portray the character on the big screen. This painting accurately depicts her in her iconic yellow and blue costume, and if we didn't know any better, we might say that this is the real Jean Grey.

Winter is Coming

They say art is an expression, and this particular artist fully encapsulates that saying. Emma, popularly known as the Movie Mayhem Makeup, has definitely said a lot through her works and doesn't intend to stop. She's a genius body art painter whose works have been featured on sites like Bored Panda.

This is a very simple painting, and what it conveys is clear. The winter is usually a very cold season most people love, some despise, and others are indifferent about, but sometimes, all you want to do during winter is snuggle up in a warm blanket around a fire.

Koi Pond

Most people hear the word "Koi" and immediately think of a particular type of fish. But what if you're told that it is actually used to describe a variety of carp that the Japanese refer to as "Nishikigoi"? Some of the most famous Chinese and Japanese art involve the drawing or painting of a carp, and many people might not understand its significance.

In China, the carp is a symbol of perseverance, strength, and endurance, and in many Chinese folktales, it is considered an incarnation of a dragon that blesses people with wealth and happiness. In Japan, it is a representation of good luck and fortune.

The Enchantress

No, this is not a zombie coming to eat your brains; neither is it an enchantress trying to steal your soul. Well, not exactly. In case you didn't know, the Enchantress is a character from the movie "Suicide Squad," where she is the main villain. But this here is no villain.

This is just someone painted to look like the real deal. And we must say, the creator does a pretty good job of it. The dark hue of her skin is very similar to her movie counterpart, and this must have been a very fun painting to do, as we can imply from the expression on her face.

Till Infinity And Beyond

When infinity calls, are you going to answer? There's really no correct answer to this question, and from what is depicted here, it seems that the creator is trying to paint a picture of the never-ending time spent on our gadgets, as well as the endless communication back and forth.

It could also be argued that this is trying to warn us of being stuck in a constant loop. And there is no way to break out of the cycle. This painting is so realistic that it would probably take a minute to actually decipher where her real face is.

Fierce Tiger

The tiger is the largest animal in the big cat family, and it is a large, solitary animal that is very territorial. Instantly recognizable by the stripes all over its body, it is also a very popular animal for body art design.

Although they might look cute and cuddly, it would be very unwise to get too close to one of them, as they can inflict a whole new level of discomfort on their victim, which might be what the creator of this was trying to depict. The woman's facial expression is one of that who shouldn't be messed with, similar to a real tiger.

A Real Superhero

Over the years, we've had plenty of characters from comics like Marvel and DC and numerous others from other movies and cartoons like anime, and many fans have their personal favorites. They usually love to dress up as them by wearing a costume.

However, some might prefer a more personal approach; wearing the costumes as paint. This is not a choice for the faint-hearted, and the woman in this picture rocks the body art to perfection. The only thing left for her is to get the superpowers, and then we'll have another superhero on our hands.

Hidden In Plain Sight

Many people have certainly wished they were invisible at one point in time. Maybe you didn't want to engage in conversation with someone or just wanted to blend into your surroundings, never to be seen and invisible from everyone in sight. Well, if this is you, this is your lucky day, as there is a way to do it, but it might not be what you expect.

How about body paint? Yep, it can be a way to camouflage yourself like a chameleon. This woman certainly gets it, as she is almost invisible and is almost literally one with her surroundings.

The New Avengers

If you can think it, you can be it. That's what they say, isn't it? Admit it; you have thought about it at least once or twice while you were left alone with only your thoughts and imaginations as a companion. Now, check this idea out: a team of Avengers made up of only females. Who wouldn't want that?

Well, it seems the creator of this has had this exact thought, as he recreated the costume of the famous Marvel superheroes on women. His art creation says that anyone can become a superhero, regardless of who they are.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Special effects artists are very versatile and can work with almost anything. They add the extra to the ordinary. This artist has recreated Sally from "The Nightmare Before Christmas," and she's refined it to perfection. Though Sally doesn't have a lot of fans because she gives people the creeps, still, you can't help but admire the work that went into achieving this look.

If you are unaware, the Sally character is a humanoid ragdoll made of various pieces stitched together, and she is always kept in a room devoid of any human interaction. In the original movie, she is voiced by Catherine O'Hara.

Catwoman Beneath The Stars

Catwoman is a female character originally in the DC comics. A fan favorite, especially among women, this agile, beautiful cat burglar has been portrayed by actresses like Michelle Pfeiffer, Anne Hathaway, and Halle Berry, with the last starring in a critically maligned movie adaptation that was also a box office flop.

Catwoman is known for her skintight costume that complements her curves, which is what this creator was trying to highlight with this design. Though this is more similar to earlier versions of her character's costume, it is safe to say that this is a pretty good depiction.

Miss America

The American flag is more than its blue, red, and white colors. It is a symbol of peace, harmony, valor, justice, vigilance, and perseverance. It represents different things to different people. But ultimately, it indicates the sacrifices of the 13 colonies and symbolizes the continuous sacrifices of heroes who do everything within their power to improve the country and the lives of its citizens.

In celebration of America's independence, this woman decided to have the United States flag painted on her body, making a bold statement of her own. It's her way of celebrating, and there is nothing else to say but that it's amazing!

Simplicity Is Key

Sometimes the best and most beautiful things are often the simplest things. As the saying goes, less is more, and often masterpieces don't have to be a very complex, extensive, and intricate endeavor, as indicated by this design. This very simple art cannot be ignored, as her unpainted skin stands out from the all-black design across her body.

While there might be no underlying message or major theme in this masterpiece, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is visually appealing and that sometimes we just need to pause and just go with the flow. We might be surprised to see where it takes us.

Body Paint Super Fans

It goes without saying that fans play an important part in any sport. From football to basketball and hockey to baseball, fans make up a massive part of the sporting community. And, every fan shows their team support in different ways.

Some might buy team jerseys; others go as far as to tattoo the logo or names of their favorites on their body. Meanwhile, a few others might name their kids after their beloved players. These women here chose body paint to express their support for their team, and it's a pretty impressive way to show support.

Fill Up The Koi Pond

To be an artist, you have to have a very active imagination, see things that are not usually seen by others, and express what it means to you. Who would have thought a human canvas could be used to paint a perfect image of a Koi pond?

From the milky skin of the model to the fish in the pond and the one held up, it's a clear illustration of the benefits of Koi ponds and the look they give even when used as a decorative backdrop. The mind-blowing part of this artwork is the simplicity in its magnificence, and we can't get enough of it.
