 Deborah Knight - $500,000

Deborah Knight belongs to the elite club of hosts who run the morning airwaves. She's currently co-hosting the popular Today show airing on Nine Network. Going by the ratings and reviews, the team must be doing a great job, and they deserve all the accolades.

Deborah takes home a cool $500,000 yearly for her trouble, making her one of the best-paid presenters. This salary is independent of various bonuses she gets every time the show inclines, meaning there's a possibility our good lady makes more. Deborah's net worth currently stands at $1.2 million, and it's only a matter of time before she adds more zeros.

Carrie Bickmore - $5 MIllion

Speaking of radio personalities down in Oz, let’s talk about Carrie Bickmore. A Gold Logie-winning presenter, she’s been in the business since the ‘00s hosting shows like So You Think You Can Dance Australia and Carrie & Tommy. That resume (and her charismatic personality) scored her a $1.5 million a year contract with the Hit Network in 2019.

This estimated annual income and her $3 million Byron Bay home together put her current fortune at a cool $5 million. Aside from her radio show, Bickmore is also busy co-hosting the current affairs talk show The Project as of 2021.

Richard Glover - (Estimated) $1 to $5 Million

Although best known as a radio presenter, Richard Glover is one multitalented guy. He has written several books and has even created stage plays that were performed across Australia. His primary source of income, though, remains to be his ABC Radio Sydney gig.

According to a Radio Info report, his spot at the station reportedly once earned him as much as $290K a year. Of course, Glover likely saw a significant increase in that number in 2020 with the release of his latest published work, Love, Clancy: A Dog's Letters Home.

Annabel Crabb - (Estimated) $1 to $5 Million

Journalist Annabel Crabb is a force to be reckoned with both in print and broadcast reporting. Not only has she written for many of Adelaide, Australia’s biggest papers, she’s also made a name for herself as an ABC news presenter. She’s so good at her job that she brings home a reported $217K in annual earnings.

That number was estimated in 2017 when she was serving as ABC's online political editor. She continues to do big things for the network to this day. In July 2021, she released the four-part series Ms Represented, recounting Australian politics from the female perspective.

Livinia Nixon - $62,636

There's no denying that Livinia Nixon is a fantastic presenter, and many viewers flock to the Nine News Melbourne channel to enjoy her moments on screen. With such a loyal fanbase, you might think she is raking in millions, but we are sorry to inform you that our star is not quite there yet.

According to Nine News Melbourne, the presenter makes a humble $62,636 every year, which is less than we'd expect. This mostly comes from her job as a weather girl, but here's hoping Nixon gets to climb higher in the corporate ladder soon.

Neil Mitchell - Undisclosed

Neil Mitchell is another well-compensated radio personality in Oz, we hear. He rules the Melbourne airwaves as a presenter on the talk-back station 3AW. According to Radio Today, that gig earns him a couple of million annually. He’s not one to think much about money, it seems, though.

In a 2013 interview, he expressed his stance against doing live ad reads on his program not to compromise his journalism. What’s more, he said that he was well-paid and didn’t need to buy a mansion. With that kind of mindset, it’s no surprise that Mitchell is still on the top of his game in 2021.

Hamish Blake And Andy Lee - (Combined) $9 Million

Hamish Blake and Andy Lee are a popular comedy duo known for their Gap Year series of travel shows. Professionally known as Hamish & Andy, the Australian pair has also ventured into the world of radio. Their airwaves take over even earned them a lucrative contract in 2017.

According to Pedestrian TV, the deal saw them get an estimated salary of $4 million a year. That made them among the highest-paid FM radio announcers in Oz at the time. As of 2021, Hamish & Andy now host an eponymous podcast and just released a book titled Power Moves.

Kyle Sandilands - $40 MIllion

Since we’ve talked about Jackie O, it’s high time we got to know her on-air partner Kyle Sandilands, too. He’s the other half of KIIS 106.5’s popular The Kyle and Jackie O Show. And for that, he’s also well-compensated. He notably signed an $80 million contract with the station in 2019.

That means Sandilands would get about $8 million annually over the course of five years. However, he and Jackie O received a pay cut in 2020 that put their estimated annual income down to $7.2 million. Given his current $40 million net worth, though, we doubt he’d be hurting for cash anytime soon.

David Campbell -$10 Million

Although David Campbell started his career as a singer, he later found himself banking on his lively personality as a TV host. He co-presented The Morning Show on Australia’s Seven Network and scored a high-profile post on Today Extra.

As of 2021, Campbell still hosts the morning talk show alongside journalist Sylvia Jeffreys. His decision to stay with the program for going on nine years now isn’t a surprise. We hear he was bringing home annual earnings of $400K a year for his post in 2015. He may have since gotten a raise, though.

Hugh Jackman - $180 Million

Now, here’s an Aussie who doesn’t need much of an introduction. Hollywood A-lister Hugh Jackman has proven himself to be a huge box office draw thanks to the success of films like Les Misérables and The Greatest Showman. However, he’s arguably best known for his role as Wolverine, which also brought him giant paydays.

GQ estimates that he brought home nearly $100 million for the entire franchise. He once even earned a whopping $55 million in just a year alone. Perhaps he can replicate this in the future as he prepares to star as luxury car magnate Enzo Ferrari in an upcoming film.

Eddie McGuire - $55 Million

Eddie McGuire is one of Australia’s foremost sports journalists. He’s perhaps best known for his commentary on Oz’s professional football league. However, he’s dabbled in game show hosting and was also once the CEO of Nine Network. The latter post reportedly earned him an annual income of $3.5 million.

These days, though, his yearly paycheck is estimated to be nearer $3 million, and his current fortune sits at $55 million. As of 2021, he commentates on several sports programs on Fox, including Friday Night Football. McGuire also faced controversy at the beginning of the same year involving his former post as the Collingwood Football Club president.

Alan Jones - $10 Million

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, radio broadcaster Alan Jones earns an estimated annual income of $4 million as of 2020. Pretty impressive, huh? But that number was actually higher in the past. The decline is reportedly due to brands distancing themselves from the right-leaning Jones’ controversial commentary.

The rugby league coach doesn’t seem too fazed, though. Sources say that Jones is planning a radio comeback soon. For now, he has plenty to keep him busy and earning good money. The former 2GB host writes columns for two Australian papers and presents for Sky News.

Fifi Box - (Estimated) $1 to $5 Million

Another Aussie radio personality who isn’t afraid to branch out is Fox FM host Fifi Box. Aside from her work with the Melbourne-based station, she’s also joined the cast of the popular soap Neighbours and competed on Dancing With The Stars in 2021. All that while also being a mom of two children!

It’s safe to say that she deserves the reported $2 million a year she receives as a breakfast radio show host. We hear Box also has something new in the works coming later in 2021. She’s preparing to publish a children’s book titled Minty Mae Gray and the Strangely Good Day.

 Russell Crowe - $100 Million

Another Aussie who made it big in Hollywood is New Zealand-born actor Russell Crowe. And it looks like he’s among the richest, too. He accumulated a net worth of $100 million over the years, thanks to several big paydays. For example, he reportedly earned $15 million for the 2001 film A Beautiful Mind.

So while there are no exact figures about his annual income, it’s safe to say that it can be estimated to be around a couple of million a year. His list of ongoing and upcoming projects would certainly make that possible. Crowe is due to star next as Zeus in Thor: Love And Thunder in 2022.

Chris Hemsworth - $130 Million

Speaking of the new Thor movie, let’s talk about its lead star Chris Hemsworth. Standing at almost six foot three and having classic good looks, it’s not hard to see why the Australian hunk got the coveted part in the Marvel films. And given his star appeal, it’s also not surprising that he earns an eye-popping amount to play the Norse god.

In 2019, he reportedly pocketed $15 million for the film Avengers: Endgame. And considering that he worked on multiple projects that year, his estimated annual income is likely much more than that. We could only imagine how much tax that kind of pay entails!

Cate Blanchett - $95 Million

Cate Blanchett has shown her versatility as an actress many times before. She’s played the queen of England, a powerful elf, and even a con woman. That said, she’s proven herself enough to earn a reported income of $12.5 million a year as a silver screen star and endorser.

The Australian beauty has starred in her fair share of blockbusters, including Ocean’s Eight and Thor: Ragnarok. What’s more, she’s the current ambassador of the designer brand Giorgio Armani’s beauty line. Blanchett notably endorsed the Italian luxury company’s new fragrance Si in 2021.

Luke Hemsworth - $3 Million

We know Chris Hemsworth and his younger brother Liam. Now, it’s time that we talk about their older and equally handsome sibling, Luke Hemsworth. An actor in his own right, he made a name for himself as part of the Australian soap Neighbours and HBO’s Westworld.

While we can’t find exact figures of his estimated annual income, his current $3 million fortune indicates that he’s been well-compensated for his talents. He once even co-owned a $4.3 million property with his brothers. We heard he’s also starring in Chris’ upcoming Thor: Love And Thunder film.

Joel Edgerton - $3 Million

Starting as an actor in Australian TV, Joel Edgerton made the successful crossover to Hollywood with projects like The Great Gatsby and Red Sparrow. He’s even directed and written a film of his own in 2015 with The Gift. The thriller feature reportedly recorded earnings of over $58 million at the box office.

So, while some sources estimate his yearly income to be around $500K, we can assume he’s seen much larger paydays in the past. And it looks like there’ll be more of those in the future. Edgerton is quite the busy bee with multiple projects in the works. Catch him next in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series in 2022.

Toni Collette - $18 Million

Indie film darling Toni Collette has impressed the world with her acting talents since her breakout role in the 1994 comedy Muriel’s Wedding. No wonder she managed to build an impressive $18 million fortune since then! Her skills also shined in the films Little Miss Sunshine and Hereditary.

Several sources put Collette’s estimated annual income around $1 million. That number is quite believable since she’s been working on multiple film projects a year for a while now. Oh and have we mentioned that she was once a singer, too? She seems focused on acting for now, though, and will next star in the upcoming mini-series The Staircase.

Ben Mendelsohn - $9 Million

Ben Mendelsohn has had a long, prolific career since his days as a teen actor in Australia. He found a niche in Hollywood playing villains in sci-fi films. Remember him as the Skrull Talos in Captain Marvel? Or perhaps it’s his take on Director Orson Krennic in Rogue One that left a mark?

While Mendelsohn’s estimated annual income hasn’t been disclosed yet, we bet he’s earned some serious money in recent years. After all, both the Marvel Comics films and Star Wars series have pulled in billions at the box office. That said, we’re excited to see him as Talos again in the TV series Secret Invasion.

Bryan Brown - $10 Million

Bryan Brown may not be a household name in Hollywood, but he’s a well-respected actor in his native Australia. Known for films like Dirty Deeds and Two Hands, his four-decade career has also earned him a fortune worth $10 million. There are no figures available about his estimated yearly income.

However, we reckon that he’s doing quite well in that department. Brown, who we last saw in the 2020 series Hungry Ghosts, owns a production company and has made several TV shows over the years. He also currently lives in Sydney’s Birchgrove neighborhood, where real estate prices reach multimillions.

Jackie O - (Estimated) $20 Million

Not to be mistaken for the late American first lady, Jackie O is one of Australia’s most popular radio personalities. And have mentioned she’s also among the highest-paid? According to The Sydney Morning Herald, she and her hosting partner Kyle Sandilands got a $7 million a year contract with KIIS FM in 2019.

The agreement extends up to 2022 and totals $20 million across three years. And guess what Jackie splurged on to celebrate? A luxury property worth $11 million, from what we’ve heard. It’s all well-deserved, though. She’s on the air every weekday morning and even judges on The Masked Singer Australia as of 2020.

Leigh Sales - (Estimated) $460K

Broadcast journalist Leigh Sales is one of the most recognizable faces on Australia’s ABC channel. And with that reputation comes a large paycheck, according to the Daily Mail. The current 7.30 news program host reportedly has an annual income of $460K, which is the highest in the network.

That is definitely a significant increase from the $280K she was receiving years prior. It’s worth noting that Sales has other income sources, including her book Any Ordinary Day and her podcast Chat 10 Looks 3. That said, she deserves a lot of props for juggling her work responsibilities like a pro!

Samantha Armytage - Undisclosed

Starting as a reporter, Samantha Armytage steadily climbed her way up the work ladder to co-host Seven Network’s aptly titled breakfast program Sunrise. The Australian journalist reportedly earns $500K for her post as of 2020. Her total annual income might be higher than that, though.

See, Armytage is not one to put all of her eggs in one basket. She’s also branched to hosting her own podcast called Something To Talk About while also writing a column for Stellar magazine. No wonder she had the means to purchase a beautiful $2.2 million country property, which she has since sold.

Lisa Wilkinson - $1.3 Million

The topic of salaries might be a sore subject for former Nine Network host Lisa Wilkinson. In 2017, it was reported that she left the station for its refusal to pay her equally as her co-host Karl Stefanovic. At the time, she was believed to be bringing home about an annual income of $1.1 million compared to Stefanovic’s $2 million.

Now working for Network 10’s nighttime current affairs program The Project, we’re hoping that Wilkinson is finally receiving the kind of paycheck she deserves. From her 2021 social media posts, it seems like she’s doing well these days and is pretty happy with her new job.

Simon Patmore - Undisclosed

Australian snowboarder Simon Patmore is one inspiring man. For the unfamiliar, he overcame his Erb's palsy diagnosis to become a 2018 Paralympics gold medalist. And before that, he represented his country in the 200 meters track and field event at the 2012 edition of the games in London.

While we don’t know how much Patmore brings home annually as an athlete, we heard that the South Korean government gave away a $59K cash prize for the first-place winners of the sporting event. Last we heard, Patmore was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2020 for his athletic achievements.

Catherine McNeil - $16 Million

Tall and striking, Catherine McNeil took the fashion world by storm during her modeling heydays in the late ‘00s. The five-foot-eleven Australian beauty scored several advertising gigs with giant brands like Versace and Dolce & Gabbana. This success helped her accumulate a fortune worth $16 million today.

There are conflicting details about her current annual income. But some sources estimate that she’s bringing in somewhere between $95K to $161K a year these days. From what we’ve seen on her Instagram profile, she’s still in the modeling business and appeared on Elle Russia in 2020.

Karl Stefanovic - (Estimated) $6.5 to $10 Million

It looks like even the wealthy didn’t escape the effects of the ongoing global health crisis. Word on the street is that Karl Stefanovic, who co-hosts Nine Network’s Today program, got a pay cut in 2020 that saw his annual income halved.

The Australian reported that he would be receiving $1.25 million (from a previous pay of $2.5 million a year) until at least 2023. While that’s a significant decrease, Stefanovic won’t be strapped for cash given his current multimillion fortune. In fact, he and his wife Jasmine even splurged $3.2million for a new home in 2021.

Abbey Lee Kershaw - $4 Million

Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw has proven that she’s more than just a pretty face. After gracing magazine covers and walking runways, she’s now a renowned actress with several high-profile projects in her resume. We last saw her in action in the hit HBO series Lovecraft Country in 2020.

While we can’t find details on Kershaw’s estimated annual income, she may be earning a six-figure sum, if not more. Now in her mid-30s, she’s still modeling and even appeared in a Bottega Veneta campaign. She also got to work in the short film, The Vandal, which made it to the Cannes Film Festival in 2021.

Waleed Aly - Undisclosed

Broadcaster Waleed Aly has a different background than his fellow TV personalities. While many of his colleagues have a communication degree, he began his career as an engineer and lawyer. These impressive accomplishments gave him a unique point of view as a The Project co-host.

That said, we’re not shocked to find out that he earns $500K annually for his Network Ten post. In fact, we reckon he could be bringing in much more than that given his current lecturer job on the side. As of 2021, viewers can watch him every day as he delivers the news with his The Project colleagues.

Elle Macpherson - $95 Million

Elle Macpherson might have earned the nickname The Body, but she’s proven that she’s more than just that. The multiple-time Sports Illustrated cover girl is also one smart businesswoman. Following her stint as a model in the ‘80s, she began building her own brand.

So while we don’t know exactly how much she earns today, we can say that she’s doing well given the success of her WelleCo business. According to the CEO magazine, the company is reportedly one of the most successful ones in the online wellness sector. Macpherson still poses from time to time and was last spotted on the cover of Elle France in 2021.

Sonia Kruger - $8 Million

Sonia Kruger is arguably the queen of reality competition hosting in Australia. She’s presented the Oz versions of Big Brother and The Voice franchises in recent years. That led her to earn a spot on the list of the country’s top-earning TV stars.

According to Who magazine estimates, she brings home around $1.3 million a year as of 2020. Her current contract with Channel Seven, meanwhile, is believed to cost $4 million in total. Kruger just wrapped up filming the 13th season of Big Brother in June 2021 and is anticipating the next one.

Margot Robbie - $26 Million

The world first fell in love with Australian actress Margot Robbie in 2013 when she starred with Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street. Her rise to stardom has been unstoppable since. In fact, she even made Forbes’ list of Hollywood’s top-paid actresses in 2019.

The Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey star reportedly recorded annual earnings of $23.5 million at the time. That figure likely came from her roles in the films Bombshell and Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood. She’s bound for another giant payday as she takes on the title character of Barbie in an upcoming film.

Emma Barnett - (Estimated) $1 to $5 Million

After years of working for the BBC, British broadcaster Emma Barnett hit it big in 2021 when she became the main host of Woman’s Hour. So, how much does she get paid for her new post? According to reports, she’s currently earning $345K annually.

That’s a downgrade from her estimated $366K salary in 2019 and 2020. Still, it can’t be denied that Barnett that she’s earning much more than the average full-time employee, who takes home $42K a year. Fortunately, Barnett doesn’t seem to mind that decrease, especially since she’s signed on with Bloomberg for a new show.

Richard Wilkins - $55,294

Richard Wilkins might take home an estimated $55,294 every year, but we are inclined to believe this number has significantly been slashed. Either that or there are some bonuses and allowances we are not aware of.

Richard doubles as both a radio and TV host, meaning he has several sources of income. On the other hand, this level of versatility shows how much talent and skill the veteran has amassed. Richard's salary might be slightly lower than most people on this list, but we wouldn't be surprised if we found out later that this figure was just smoke and mirrors.

Ray Hadley - Undisclosed

For many Australians, it’s Ray Hadley’s voice that they hear first thing in the morning. Being the host of The Ray Hadley Morning Show on 2GB, it’s hard to miss his sometimes controversial takes on current affairs. And he won’t be going away anytime soon.

According to the Daily Telegraph, he is due for a contract extension in 2021 that would see Hadley, who’s also a sports broadcaster, earn a total of $24 million in the next six years. That means he’s bringing home a hefty salary of about $4 million annually.

Nicole Kidman - $250 Million

Nicole Kidman is one of the most successful Hollywood stars to come out of Australia. While known for her great beauty, she’s also proven herself a formidable actress in movies like Moulin Rouge and The Hours, which earned her an Oscar. This combo of skill and looks made her a box office draw.

According to Fox Business, she has appeared at least five times on Forbes’ list of top-earning celebrities, too. Kidman, who’s set to star in the 2022 film The Northman, brought home an annual income of $34 million in 2019 alone.

Brendan Jones And Amanda Keller - Undisclosed

It looks like The Kyle And Jackie O Show isn’t the only popular radio show in the Sydney area. WSFM duo Brendan Jones and Amanda Keller, hosts of the ACRA award-winning breakfast program Jonesy & Amanda, are giving them some healthy competition. And we hear they’re paid pretty well, too!

According to Pedestrian TV, the broadcasting pair has an estimated annual income of over $1 million. That’s thanks to a lucrative contract they signed in 2017. Years later, and the show is still going strong. Not one to keep blessings to themselves, Jones and Keller are currently hosting a cash giveaway on their popular show as of July 2021.

Tony Jones - Undisclosed

One of Australia’s most well-known journalists, Tony Jones has been delivering the news since the ‘80s. He climbed his way up from a radio reporter to become the host of ABC’s current affairs program Lateline. That trajectory also meant huge paydays.

His yearly income was once estimated to be around $355K, making him the highest-paid presenter at the Australian national broadcaster. Although we don’t know how much he has in the bank, Jones is possibly still receiving substantial pay for his work in projects like the 2019 docuseries Revelation.

MELANIE LOUISE MCLAUGHLIN – $5 MILLION

Melanie Louise McLaughlin is an Australian sports journalist and presenter best known for her cricket, football, and motorsport work. She's associated with Seven Network as a sports presenter and has been in the reporting business since 2004, when she joined Sky News.

She has covered some of the most significant sports events, including the 2014 Winter Olympics, the Indian Premier League, and the 2016 Summer Olympics, to name just a few. McLaughlin's salary is speculated to be around $60k annually, considered the average figure for a sports presenter. This figure makes her estimated $5 million net worth even more impressive!
